Headed over to ‪#‎Disney‬'s ‪#‎HollywoodStudios‬ for a bit and there are some‪#‎MagicBand‬ and ‪#‎MyDisneyExperience‬ issues across property right now ranging from FASTPasses to dining plan issues to park tickets.

If you're in the parks...many smaller food locations are also taking cash only. If any other issues, please speak with Guest Services.
This has happened before. Computer issues is nothing new with Disney unfortunately.

This is why I always carry some cash. YNK when you need it. Can imagine a lot of people ONLY have the MBs though.
In January we encountered a time where systems were down at a kiosk in frontierland. We wanted a bottle of coke so my grandma went to use her magicband and the CM said oh systems are down here have it for free. The CM didn't even ask if we had cash she just gave it to us.

The revenue lost from that one free Coke is probably one of the reasons budget cuts are happening #thanksshanghai

I've been over on the reservations boards today since the site has been down all day and someone posted that Magic Bands are not working at WDW today for dining, FP+ or paying. Anyone hear anything?
Have we heard an update on this? We arrive Thursday and hope everything is fixed by then.

Speaking as someone who was in this situation, making magical moments when the bands are down by giving the product away is much easier on everyone's part. Otherwise, we are required to get down the 12 numbers on the back of the band (And in the middle of July when the guest's are sweating like crazy, oftentimes the numbers actually would be wearing away), along with information such as room number and everything.

Just a bit of info.

We have been here since last Thursday and there have been periodic issues with the computer system. Tonight at dinner at MK they could not take magicbands, only cash or card. No biggie for us since we are not on the dining plan.

Saturday there was a good 2 hr window, maybe longer, when FP+ was not working for some guests. Guest Services was passing out anytime paper fastpasses for those who inquired. I really felt for the CMs but they seemed to handle it all well.

The biggest computer issue has been with the system for DAS returns. It has only worked a couple of times with our son's magicband and they just issued a paper card return time instead. Again, the CMs have been great this week.

You can deconstruct everything at disney (or any theme/amusement park) down to simple terms. It doesn't change the fact it's popular.

Exactly...you can also be assured that this is the worst group of park managers in Disney history...

Flat footed for 5 years of boom
And 10+ of stagnation in 3 parks.

Was there an event at STK last night? My wife and her friend were saying that there was a live video feed of STK on a Facebook page and that it looked like a dance party, but with fine dining. I have not seen it reported anywhere on the interwebz as of this morning.

Yes the grand opening press event was last night.

Was able to go to a preview for the new nighttime events at Animal Kingdom and it's pretty amazing.

The tree awakening is spectacular. The projection mapping is spot on, and there are points where you can't tell it's a tree anymore.
I saw a few of the new street performances, and they are a lot of fun. The Carnival group was amazing. Their performance was great and the costumes were fantastic.
The nighttime safari was interesting as well. Definitely saw animals in a different way than during the day. It will be interesting to see if/how they modify the lighting at all, because that was the one thing that really seemed off to me.

Wait, let me follow this "logic".

First, you think it's silly there is a massive wait time for "an 8 year old arcade game".

I point out that Disney is, and for that matter has *always* been, about simple experiences and you suddenly switch gears to criticizing the managers? Seriously, what does that have to do with anything here?

Are you trying to argue that the "worst group of park managers in Disney history" are the reason this ride is popular? Because frankly, that's counter intuitive. They are obviously doing something right if they can get 2+ hour waits for "an 8 year old arcade game".

Second, your criticizing current park management while ignoring the fact that they have built, opened, and are building more content than the last 15 years combined. But I guess since you don't like Frozen or Avatar, it doesn't count?

Because that's where you are allowing your subjectivity to provide the basis for sweeping generalizations about the state of the company.

Following your logic of jumping from ride wait times to management quality, I'm going to try and predict your follow-up post.

But who charges the same price of a combo meal for an ice cream bar? A capitalist Iger loving mouse with a communist agenda

Apologies if I got the last bit wrong. It's hard to capture your non-sequitur psuedo-political insults, so I know I didn't do it justice.
