News Round Up 2016

Don't tease me in thinking the possibility of Ellen's Energy Adventure closing for a Tron based attraction, or Imagination! closing to be re-imagined back to the original is on the table.

Don't you do that to be rteets!
Now that would be something. I was thinking more along the lines of another DHS closure or something at Epcot.

I'd vote for Imagination closing to be rebooted by bringing back the dream finder but moving to new technology and a trackless system like Mystic Manor in Hong Kong Disneyland

There's so many things they could do, especially in the tech space. They could have limited engagements (18 months or so) for showcasing startups or newer technologies. That way, you can get an actual partnership going but it doesn't end up stale. They could even leverage their ABC shows like Shark Tank as well. There's no reason why large areas should lay dormant because there's no easy IP to attach to a building.

According to The Dibb, Its a Small World refurbishment is back on for August 22nd, 2016 to September 15th, 2016.

We did make and purchase one, with no such warning given....as I'm kind of stickler about that sort of stuff with my son. Perhaps an oversight on their part.
Truth is, that the are always in a semi deployed state. Even when taped, they are a good 1.5 to 2 feet long.

Clearly you haven't experienced DHS... its open lightsaber warfare at that place. :D

I completely agree. Tesla, SpaceX, Hyperloop One, Hyperloop Technologies, Virgin Galactic, anything in the nano-space, anything in the biotech space, on and on and on....

Oh yes, totally forgot about Hyperloop! That would fit into the Epcot wheelhouse in a big way. Elon Musk might as well be Lord-Mayor of Epcot based on his track record.

This is what Disney should implement into all the paths in either Future World or Tomorrowland :

They could do a bunch of cool things with some technology like this It could also be used in practical ways such as crowd control. No more painters tape being used. It'll likely never happen because of $$$ though.

Might not be anything, but Disney's stocks were on a steady climb for a while till this week. Every day this week they were down. All these openings today and a few other news, and stocks right now are up pretty good for Disney for the day. So overall it won't be as bad a week as it could have been. I think that could be a factor as well...or maybe you are right and something else is coming (bad announcement).

I can't tell you how many times I've narrowly avoided being smacked in all matter of places while at DHS... Like someone else said, one of these days, it's just gonna magically disappear from their hands and reappear in the lake!

We aren't supposed to throw misbehaving children in the lake?;)

Hope they installed plenty of rest rooms and a few snack carts in that que then.

They need some alcoholic beverages, maybe shots and beer, and school bread on that cart:)

Looks cool - though when I went to look at it in Youtube it brought up about 20 videos showing that they are, um, not really practical/realistic - but would be cool and I bet Disney could do something along these lines

heck, I'd take it if they would replace those noisy, poluting cars on the Speedway and replace them with electric cars or maglev or something

Or does Disney have info that the competition down the street may be making a big announcement soon?

It hasn't been that bad lately at Magic Kingdom. And with 3x capacity I think it will be fine. It seems more likely they oversized it to get through an initial push and then in the future add an Olaf room and with the trolls, Christoff, Sven, and Frozen 2 plenty of opportunities coming soon.

I predict by Sept A&E will be down to less than 3 rooms and an average of 60 min waits.

The good news is by then everyone will forget my prediction and when I'm wrong I won't get called out! :D
