News Round Up 2016

Agree. Seems like too many closures for summer and fall. Ugh.
Fall is always when they close things for refurb because that is considered a down time. Also this really isn't a lot of refurbs. Two of the ones I listed are water parks which they go down every winter for full refurbishments. Swiss Family Tree House isn't very popular by any means. The only refurb people would possibly have a problem with is Dinosaur.

BTMRR is also going down for a long refurb this fall. Glad we're not going 'til after Thanksgiving!

I get that we all want to have all the rides open for our visits, but we cannot complain about the poor state of certain attractions one day and lament that they are refurbishing them the next.

As for the Frozen ride, I'm not saying that they wouldn't be willing to sacrifice capacity for the experience, but wouldn't it make more sense to make a non-dialogue driven attraction when Maelstrom wasn't exactly known for being a people eater?

Dinosaur refurbishment at AK from July 25th to September 29th.

That seems kind of long. I guess I will only get to ride twice now, since we plan to go to AK on 7/23 & 7/25:rolleyes: I'm not a huge fan of it anyway. It's too rough. Maybe they will do whatever they did to Indy and smooth Dinosaur out.

I'm bummed about the treehouse. I like to eat Dole Whip while going through it. I guess I'm the only one who cares though:)

Voyage of the Little Mermaid will be closed for refurbishment July 24-27

Wow! Here's another hitting our trip from 7/21-7/26. I was planning on doing it on 7/24, because that's our MK day. I still haven't ridden the one at WDW, just the DCA one. DH probably won't be upset though. He didn't seem to keen to ride it.

I'm guessing the length of dinosaur is because it really hasn't had a big refurb in a long time if ever. It tends to break down a lot lately so they should be able to fix the problems.

I definitely care about the tree house I just know it's not the most popular thing to do.

The Voyage of the Little mermaid is the show musical thing in DHS not the ride in MK.

Any detail as to what the "big plans" for 4.0 were? Nothing urks me more than when something gets canned, then the production people come out and say, "It was going to be the most amazing thing ever, but now we'll never see it." without saying what their "amazing" thing was going to be.

besides what rteetz replied about one of the big changes was that the toy box mode was supposed to get a story line which would finally allow characters from different universes to interact with each other. I'm pretty disappointed that they are pulling out of Disney Infinity. They said it was a big loss of money and that there was too much competition. However they were considered the leader in the "toys to life" market. And it seems that with all the IP they had they should have dominated any other platform. I just don't get it the future looked pretty bright

Oh I'm sure, but I can never resist a bad joke. It's why Jungle Cruise is my favorite.

Now that I think about it, Disney missed a pretty good "bad joke" opportunity.

"Frozen Ever After, opening....INNNNNN SUMMMEEERRRRRRR!

They must have read your post. Got this in an email yesterday. . .

Big thunder mountain is down for a while.

Edit: sorry, apparently I was a little late in pointing that out...
