News Round Up 2016

It still gave me the same message today. Do I have to drop some others to get it? I am in Disney from the 16th-20th.

it seems you aren't the only having an issue. Just as a reminder you can only have 3 FP booked total and only 1 of those from tier 1 at Epcot. I'll do some checking on the FP availability.

Rumor

Word on the street is Bruce Broughton is doing the music for the new Soarin

I figured this would happen, but I'll be disappointed if a riff doesn't somehow remain of the original.
I absolutely love the music for Soarin' over California. It may well be the most effective original ride music ever.

YAWN!

Do people actually stop to watch these things? I get that it's nice to sit in a cool theater, but the last thing I really want to do is sit down and watch a movie trailer. I'd rather do just about anything else.

The "One Man's Dream" movie was awesome. Bring it back please or knock the theater down.
Well it's more of a extended preview. Like 10 or so Minutes. I have never done it because they aren't usually running while I go but I think during busy times it gives people something to do especially at DHS.

Still one of my favorite restaurants at Disney just because of the theme.

Love it there too - just booked for October. Wish they would change up the clips. Same 40 minute roll of film's been playing for the full 25 years. I estimate that means its been shown 109,500 times. Imagine working there? Poor people have those cartoons burned in their brain!

ugh, I have TRIED to love it...but the last several times we did eat there we were really turned off by CMs at front desk who were downright rude, and then when we did finally get in, the food was really poor. It was fun the first ump-teen times seeing those same tired old film clips, but they really got to be hard to sit through multiple times while waiting for service/food. Haven't been back, and don't plan on it any time soon.:rolleyes2

It's one of our favorites theme-wise but I must admit the food has always been sub-par. The last few times we've used it as a place to get desserts, rest and soak up atmosphere. The wait has been horrible though and the door CM's were rude and aloof. Even with reservations we still wound up waiting 30 mins past the time. It's a shame that such a cool place can't have good food, good service and good atmosphere at the same time.

I haven't been, but I always imagined there would be some nice air conditioning to sit in during the summer for a short break...

Ugh - but looking at the music he's done for the parks - and the fact he scored all the Roger Rabbit shorts - it looks like a very cartoonish CV. His last scored an actual MOVIE in 1998.

Jerry Goldsmith did the original music, and it's actually my favorite part about the ride. I can't imagine being anything but disappointed with what comes next if it's not that same epic-sounding score. (Still hoping that they are going to take the original score and just have it re-"arranged".)

It is a quite unimpressive résumé. I guess you never know who may compose the next great score, though. Gavin Greenaway was responsible for Illuminations, and he doesn't have the best catalogue either :confused3 Let's just hope the new score is just as good as the original.
