News Round Up 2016

From the article:
"The new score will be based on the music from the original Soarin’ attraction."

PHEW! I hope it's still close in caliber.

I've always been in the "change the movie all you want - just leave the score and let me still smell the oranges" camp. I also hope at some point in the future they run BOTH movies.

I am crossing my fingers that there will be scents in the new one! Still trying to figure out what the Great Wall smells like

YAWN!

Do people actually stop to watch these things? I get that it's nice to sit in a cool theater, but the last thing I really want to do is sit down and watch a movie trailer. I'd rather do just about anything else.

The "One Man's Dream" movie was awesome. Bring it back please or knock the theater down.

I forgot they were doing the Jungle Book preview last time and actually sat and waited for it for about 10 minutes after I finished looking through the museum. Then the CM announced it (I somehow was not clued in by the giant poster covering the doors) and I sighed and left. I wish they would bring back the film, I still have never seen it because I skipped it my first few times and every time I come back now it's some sort of movie preview.

Also, I keep meaning to ask (I don't know if I have ever seen it discussed before), but has there ever been talk about Disney/Pixar ever doing an HD remake/remaster of, say, Toy Story? This type of thing seems quite frequent in the Video Game world and with live-action movies (getting re-mastered), but I don't think I have heard of it being applied to old CG pictures. I wonder if there would be a market for movies (like Toy Story) to be re-released with all the same audio and all new graphics.

No discussion. Got a few years to go I imagine.

Interesting note though - they actually designed a whole graphics engine that purposely lowered the quality of what could be done for TS2 & especially 3. They wanted a consistent look and feel so they made a graphics model to replicate the archaic look of TS1.
