News Round Up 2016

I may have missed it posted here, but I ran across this on another thread:

Disney Early Morning Magic- Fantasyland

Guests Check-In beginning at 7:30am at the Main Entrance of Magic Kingdom, by the Far Left Hand Side Turnstiles. Guests will receive a sticker for identification.

At 7:45am Guests are allowed to enter Magic Kingdom. They will make their way to Fantasyland where they will be free to enjoy Peter Pan’s Flight, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

no mention on price or dates....this is not a replacement of EMH they will probably do this on days when there isn't morning EMH at MK

This one would irk me as we fully take advantage of RD. I'd be sad to see that taken away...

I think @rteetz started a separate thread for this in the rumors forum. I don't remember if these details were posted in it though. We are rope droppers too, so I find it disappointing as well.

I would be not happy if we got stuck with the old one, want to see the new one.

I agree - especially with huge lines expected and booking a FP+ and then finding out it was the old one ... I wouldn't be happy

With adding the new theater maybe they could do 1 theater is the old version and 2 are the new and you get to pick which to get in line for or something

The fact that there's an anti-gay bill in 2016 is absolutely horrid. And then we look at history books and lament ourselves for the actions of our ancestors.

How is the bill anti-gay? Maybe I'm missing something. My understanding is that the bill gives clergy the right to refuse to marry people on the basis of religious beliefs. While I think this is a direct response to the Supreme Court's decision about gay marriage, the law itself doesn't appear to be any more anti-gay than it would be anti-Christian for a rabbi to refuse to marry a Christian couple (heterosexual or otherwise). I agree that the motivations for the bill MIGHT be bigoted, but so far I haven't seen anything about the bill itself that is discriminatory, again unless I'm missing something.

Another thing: Atlanta is typically known as a gay friendly city. Disney's boycott is just window dressing that may ultimately hurt the population it is ostensibly trying to protect.

Ok it's probably my fault for using that term. I was just using what was in the headline. Anyways, we cannot get political here.

Not to bash you rteez, but don't just repeat what the media is saying. It is not an anti-gay bill. It just says that pastors(for example) are not required to perform a ceremony that is against their religious beliefs.

You're suggesting that there needs to be a law for something that is already protected? Or that someone making a sandwich should be afforded the same opportunity to exclude? www.google.com.

It was my bad as well for skimming through the article and falling for the sensationalist title. Let's move on. Disney news.

That is not what I said at all. I said it is not an anti-gay bill.

Let's move on. I edited the original post. All I was doing was reporting a news story with the headline given.

@rteetz, you shared big news for many regarding something Disney and Marvel.

No need to apologize for posting a cut and paste, without inserting your own opinion.

I live in Atlanta, right in the midst of this and people posting inaccurate information is the last thing we need.

I agree, leave politics off this board as it is a no win.
