News Round Up 2016

Spirited news

Ticket increases likely coming Sunday. Ticket boards will soon get screens instead so they can change the ticket prices from day to day.

An example
That $100 a day EPCOT admission is the baseline It just may cost you $160 to get in on NYE and $118 on a Saturday during food and wine.

Any feedback yet on how they will handle annual passes and multi-day tickets?
Also, the screens imply the pricing will be dynamic... are they going to lock them in a year in advance? a month in advance? or are they truly dynamic and can change day of?

Annual Passes are not set to increase as they just did. I am not sure how multi-day tickets will work either. I would imagine there could be some sort of lock in point but haven't heard of such.

ah, ok - thanks. So then that problem wouldn't really relate to a new waterside Italian restaurant

The menu really appeals to us plus it is something different (we have good Italian near us so we never eat Italian at Disney)
The menu is very appealing to me. I had a reservation I didn't make it to because my party was exhausted. Otherwise, I'd happily supply a report.
Hopefully I get a chance to visit on another trip.

Interesting. The early purchase I was considering would be for an AP, but if I can hold off, that's much better for my fiscal responsibility.

Interesting. I assume that tickets already purchased before this are grandfathered in correct? Or might you need to pay an upgrade at the gate?

Unless your ticket has an expiration date printed on it you are pretty safe.

Disney would likely find themselves on the end of a class action lawsuit if they tried that. It's not worth it.

Wait a minute...so are their electronic ticket boards In place now?

Something still isn't right here...they're Increasing prices in 48 and haven't bothered with the hardware?

The pricing examples you provide make me wonder if they'll have an actual impact on crowds. Based on no facts I can point to, I have a *feeling* that dates like NYE and F&W weekends probably see a lot of AP foot traffic. The average NYE person is likely to have a more complex ticket package than just a day visit.

No they aren't up as far as I know but those are things that could go up overnight if they wanted. Disneyland usually closes down a section of ticket booths and refurbs them which is what they are doing now and installing the screens with that.

There may not be any dates that impact flexible pricing in the near future. That would make it easy enough to transition without immediately having new hardware.

I still think we are missing something... I think they would want to be out Infront of such a fundamental shift to core policy...

And honestly...why wouldn't they just announce it a week in advance? It would result in a significant preemptive purchase of tickets that Woukd be a one time thing...that's worth more than keeping it secret and pulling the "gotcha" routine at the TTC on a Sunday morning.
