News Round Up 2016

I read this yesterday and it's defiantly worth a read.

I wonder why they haven't expanded the calendar for rundisney as of yet? There's no shortage of rubber interest.

Weather is a problem though.
They won't do an event in the summer no way. The April and September events are warm enough.

They also did just expand the rundisney calendar with Star Wars in WDW in April and Paris in September.

There is quite a few run Disney events...and it does mess with their regular schedule. So they do have to limit how often they do that.

It's certainly an odd fit. Though there aren't any water based rides in DHS currently. The technology sounds cool mind you.

We should at least give them credit for not throwing in some light sabers and "reimagining" the Great Movie Ride.

That's a giant step forward....

I'm tending toward the theory that this is the press taking something out of context and assuming that since ILM were mentioned it must be Star Wars related when it's actually the Avatar boat ride. Mostly because it doesn't fit with what has been previously released.

I don't actually think boat rides are bad things though people often seem to say "a boat ride" like it's a negative, it just seems like a weird direction for Star Wars. If you're going to take people through a battle, why do it in a boat?

Good point. I hope you are right. I get nervous with their track record, like with the "dark rides." Need some innovation, and hopefully that is what is coming.

100% that article is talking about the Avatar ride and the author just doesn't know what they are talking about. (The author even admits in the article they don't know what they are talking about.)

Hey I'll take it! First level room looking over the lagoon with club level access with fireworks viewing is definitely the best room I've ever stayed in.

Can Beach/Yacht club level see both DHS and Epcot Fireworks?

Enjoy it. Would love to be there seeing the same view no doubt.

I thought the same thing... Except there was a lot of water in Episode VII and the end had a lot of water so we can assume parts of VIII will have water. It's interesting comments about ILMs involvement - but the boat part is interesting. If it happens what does that say about Imagineering?

Frozen - boat ride- Redo of an old boat ride.
Pandora - boat ride-Redo of an original concept. There was going to be a unicorn/mythical creature attraction In Beastly Kingdome.
Star Wars - potential boat ride?-The Millennium Falcon and chases through cities do not include water.

If true somebody's gone boat happy.
This is not a boat ride for SW.

A little late, but with regards to Buzz and the curtain, he was behind the curtain for most of our Columbus week trip. He only made an appearance for a day or two in the middle of our stay.

I doubt there are any rooms that can view both. They are in opposite directions. Plus the Swan and Dolphin are in the way from the BC.

I was thinking more along the lines of some sort of roofdeck lounge that would wrap in both directions. I've been to club level @ AKL, but there wasn't anything to see there. Probably much the same, I suspect.

I'm sure lagoon views can see DHS fireworks. I cannot see Epcot fireworks from my room.

I had lagoon view @ Yacht, pointing right at the lighthouse, but can't imagine the angle would be effective for DHS.
