News Round Up 2016

Interesting note...

Two insiders on wdwmagic say Avatar will set a new standard for attractions at WDW and Avatar will be an immersion like nothing before. Star Wars will only build on that. The battle ride will be the GOLD standard for E ticket attractions. Immersion will be star wars weekends times 10.

I really hope they aren't just building hype for us die hard fans. I would rather not know anything about it than go into it with such high expectations. Those are some bold claims being made.

Today spent at epcot. New soarin' is great, loved it. Frozen ever after a nice ride but 90 minute standby not with it. DVC lounge is nice. Nothing else new. Food and wine festival is great. Happy guy after Jellyrolls!
Interesting, I really didn't love the new Soarin'. It was a total let down. Many parts were jarring, and much of the elegance of the original was lost.

The Eiffel Tower part felt like I was on Google Earth. I hope Disney California Adventure eventually goes back to California version.

Though to each his own. ;)

I wouldn't worry. Disney just retook the best Dark Ride Crown in Shanghai with Pirates. Disney can still build the very very best. With Scott Trowbridge the creater of Spiderman in charge, I think it should be awesome. We all know Robert Iger is out to prove something with this ride, just like with Pirates in Shanghai. Is it any coincidence that Iger's favorite ride growing up was Pirates of the Caribbean? I'm excited to see what they do!

I guess it is up to each individual how we want to interpret it. Some will doubt it, some will take it for exactly what it is worth, and some will expect the universe. Bottom line is they are spending time and money to improve a park and we should all be happy about that!

After our last trip, AK is really growing on the wife and I. When it opened, we were less than impressed. But, it is maturing more and more and I am liking it more and more. Now that it will be a full day open park, and eventually will include Avatar, I see nothing but good things happening over there. The Lion King show is the best live action show on site IMO. Nemo is great for kids. Flights of wonder is also good. With tough to be a bug, Kali, Everest and the Safari, and hopefully an improved Dinosaur there is plenty to do.

Agree'd. Although not related, after the hype Google put the Android community through with their Pixel announcement (What will we see on Oct 4th, 8 years ago android launched and I think we will be talking about what happened on Oct 4th 8 years from now, etc) and the resounding thud that came and went with the Oct 4th event...I don't know if my body can handle disappointment.

I will always reserve any judgement until I actually experience the land for myself...we shall see!

I've read rumors on the dates for the filming of the Christmas parade but two different sites had two different time frames anyone here have any in site on when they have heard it will be ??

Maybe, this means WDW gets Paint the night in 2017. The rumors were mentioning that Paint the Night was going to go to Disneyland Paris when it shut down at DL. I kind of think we may also not see a nighttime parade until 50th at the earliest due to Shanghai cuts.

I think it is great they are getting the word out (even if just via rumors) to get us excited and that they know they need these to be amazing and as it has been said, they can still do amazing rides when they are devoted to it (Pirate at Shanghai, etc.)

I do think there is pressure on them though as if they don't deliver they will lose credibility and then we wont' believe them next time when they say "no, really, we mean it this time - it will be amazing!"

Don't forget the walking path attractions. Those add to the ambiance of the park and really gives a person time to unwind and take in what the Animal Kingdom is really about.

Yeah, they are great and I probably need to also mention the Dawa Bar where we melted a couple hours away listening to the music a couple weeks ago.
