News Round Up 2016

As far as Hollywood Studios... I'm thinking Indy could be getting something new over there. It's already in the park. It's popular. It's being revived with sequels and reboots.

I think about Indy too - in that it could involve them taking out the stunt show and replacing it with a ride. This would qualify as;
(a) Not Pixar or Marvel
(b) Cause some debate (removing the stunt show)
(c) explain why they didn't want to announce it yet. (Don't want to announce shuttering another attraction.)

However - where it doesn't fit is calling it "non-thrill". I can't imagine an Indiana Jones attraction being non-thrill.

Nah, I can totally see it...

Indiana Jones and the Lost Dentures

A dark ride where you follow Indiana Jones around a nursing home while he hunts for his dentures. Join Indy as he battles not being able to hear, a bad hip, and his depression that Mutt never visits.

Actually, you're right, that does sound pretty thrilling...

:)

That's true. It could always feature track-less vehicles or something along those lines and have a certain level of excitement without being an actual thrill ride. It's either that or something from today's Walt Disney Animation. Unless they go back to one of their older properties, which we know is not exactly really common under current administration.

It would seem that if you were going to do an Indy ride, it would make most sense for it to be a thrill ride. Most riders under 44" probably have no clue who Indiana Jones is. Now that is not to say that you couldn't have non-thrill ride e tickets geared for adults, but an IP like Indy screams thrill ride. Its kind of the essence of the franchise.

I'm going with they're moving Ellen's Energy Adventure from EPCOT to DHS. Seems like it'd fit all of the criteria above. :D

News

Apparently the TWDC board is having a meeting in Florida coming up. They definitely don't meet in Florida often so something must be up.

When was the last time they did this? Was it in conjunction with another major event/announcement? On the surface it wouldn't raise an eyebrow for me as I know our Board rotates their meetings between NYC (where we have no location) and our 3 sites in 3 other states.

Indiana Jones Adventure in Cali is my favorite ride ever, so I agree, an Indy ride should be at least somewhat thrilling.

Hopefully it'll be for something good and not more budget cuts.

Last time that I remember was roughly 1.5 - 2 years ago (?) to finalize plans and budget for Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land

late 2014 early 2015 if I recall it was to discuss DHS plans. They don't come to Florida often especially in the summer.
