News Round Up 2016

I'm willing to bet that we see Jungle Book in Animal Kingdom in the next few years in a big way besides that Rivers of Light rumor. I would love to see a Themed land or Dark ride based on the movie. Really good film except for the Singing segments. Those took me out of the movie. Planning to see it again two weeks from tomorrow at AMC Dine In Theater.

I could honestly see them kicking Tough to Be a Bug to the curb in favor of a Jungle Book show within the Tree of Life - or expanding the backside of Asia by Kali and MJT to add something in the corner over there.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm dying to.

Once ROL and finally Pandora are open, and AK is a fleshed-out, exciting, 'all-day' park, I don't think they will be clamoring to begin new construction there anytime soon. DHS will be going -through- it, all hands on deck for Star Wars, potential new shows for Epcot AND MK, 50th anniversary.. We don't even have ROL or Frozen yet. I do think a Jungle Book dark ride could be AMAZING. Maybe I'm crazy, I just don't see anything that big in the cards, when AK is finally 'finished', and while so many other huge projects are happening.

Plus, will the film still be as much of a draw in 14 years when they'd finally finish the damn thing? :)

Met the (Owner? Manger?) and his family last week, he was huge jerk with a huge sense of entitlement while I was at the contemporary. He couldn't take no for an answer.

That's right. Because it had to go under the railroad tracks. Or is that Pirates?
Train tracks I believe
Disneyland HM and Pirates are out of berm (train tracks) just Pirates is at WDW.

I haven't seen good dinosaur yet.
What????? o_O Sadly someone walked off with my Arlo plush from the platform last night. He was a great co pilot.

For what it is worth, right now The Jungle Book has a 95% critics score and 91% audience score on rottentomatos.com. It has been doing really well up to this point. I am surprised in that I was not anticipating going to see this as the original trailer did not grab my attention at all. However, as each new trailer was released, I found my interesting growing. Now, with the opening weekend reception it is clearly garnering, I definitely want to go see this one.

As far as Pete's Dragon goes, as of now I still have zero interest in going to see it after the teaser was released. And that latest picture of the dragon has me scratching my head as I don't like the look of it, especially having fond memories of watching the original Pete's Dragon as a kid in school.

I really enjoyed Cinderella and Malificent as far as live action remakes are concerned. I always enjoy this transformation of an animated feature into a live action remake as I am interested to see how much of it is truly a remake (Cinderella) or if the story was significantly changed to make the live action translate better on screen (Malificent). The one looming on the horizon that frightens me a bit is the remake of Winnie the Pooh. That has the potential to be a disaster.

Really good to hear. Couldn't wait to go see it after the trailer-hit the first show out.

It may have to be a second showing to grow on me. I only had one issue with it really, an otherwise nice telling of the story with great effects etc.

It wouldn't be "plural" correct?

I mean her "parents" aren't in the movie, could mean one "parent" is, and one is not.

Quite a stretch I know, just sayin.

"Rey's parents are not in Episode VII," Abrams said to the audience. "So I can't possibly at this moment tell you who they are."

Hence why I would say that, if they were to incorporate it into the park, it would bump Bugs Life to the curb. It's a prime theatre location in park, but it is entirely outdated.

But yeah, if Disney is still keeping Ellen around after all these years, I suppose the bugs will be staying too.

4 possibilities based on where I see things now:
10% - JJ is playing with words, and as you say, it plural, so parents are there, but parent is, so he said they were not.
40% - JJ is lying which leaves all options still on the table
25% - Obi-Wan (YES YES YES!)
25% - Some random unknowns that will be introduced in the novels or background players from the original trilogy
