With all of the construction being done over at Disney's California Adventure recently, it isn't surprising to hear that new merchandise will be available for sale. Guests will soon be able to purchase a unique line featuring Mickey and Minnie as they explore a Disney-fied version of the famous Route 66 hot spots.

One of the shops planned for the new Buena Vista Street area of DCA will be Los Feliz Five & Dime, a location designed with families in mind. According to the Disney Parks Blog, the store will feature t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, souvenirs, figurines, and more inspired by railways and trolleys. Character merchandise will also be available including a line featuring Mickey and Minnie trekking their way through the theme park's specialty attractions such as Soarin' Over California, Ariel's Grotto, and Goofy's Fly School.

Both kids and adults will be able to find fleece, t-shirts, novelty items, souvenirs, limited edition pins, and more in the Route 66 line. I think that this will be a great addition to the merchandise available on the west coast Disney property. However, it really has me thinking. Could this prove that Disney is beginning to listen to guest complaints regarding homogenized merchandise? Recently new Epcot t-shirts were made available and soon the DCA line described above will be on the shelves. While the infamous "Disney Parks" logo can still be found frequently in merchandise locations, is it about to become a thing of the past? Will we no longer see the yearly logo on mugs and shirts? Post your thoughts here and let us know what you think of the new line and this possibility.
