Newport, RI restaurants

I am looking for personal reviews of restaurants in the Newport, RI area. I can find lists of restaurants on the Internet, but I don't know one from the other . I'll be there later this year & am thinking of hosting a luncheon or dinner. I like Italian, but I imagine there are some good seafood restaurants in the area.

We've been to Newport many, many times as my brother-in-law owns a second home there. Lucky us! There are tons of really good restaurants along Thames. "Red Parrot" is excellent. There's a really good Italian restaurant across the street from "Red Parrot" called "Salas'. You dine upstairs. I don't think we've ever had a bad meal in Newport. There's an Irish restaurant on the harbor, "Sabina Doyle's", very good. Newport's a great place, enjoy!
