Newport-Bermuda Race Starts today

I imagine not many people here keep tabs on this, but thought I'd give it a mention in case anyone is interested. The Newport to Bermuda Race (sailing) starts today. The official website can be seen here: Newport-Bermuda 2004 .

My interest in the race is personal; my boyfriend is a Watch Captain on the Nirvana, which can be seen here. A neat feature of that site is that you can track the progress of the Nirvana live by clicking the "Check Nirvana Position" link at the top of the pages.

It really feels like summer to me once this race kicks off.

Cool stuff. I've never done the race, but I have crewed on boats before running them from Boston to Newport.

My parents are headed to Bermuda tomorrow! Dad's all pysched...mom, not so much - LOL

Annette, they'll have quite a sight to see on Sunday/Monday, then, when all the boats start arriving from the race! I wish I could be there!
