Newport Bay renovations

I'm thinking of going to Disneyland Paris next Spring. I was there once before and stayed at the Sequoia. When I was getting quotes on the booking site, I noticed that the Newport Bay is actually slightly less expensive than the Sequoia for the dates I selected, which I thought was unusual.

I heard that the Newport Bay was undergoing renovations. Could this be why it's less expensive? Does anyone know when the renovations are expected to be completed? Which hotel do you recommend?

Thanks for your help. I am very familiar with the Orlando resort, but need help planning this trip! :thanks:

Oh, I had hoped the refurbishments would be finished by next Spring? We go in 36 days time and I was told on the phone only the pool and gym would still be closed....anyone know roughly what stage it's at? Mousey min I stayed here last year and really liked it :)

I think work is planned into 2015 as its their largest hotel to refurb so I would imagine that is why you are currently getting a cheaper rate then the SL

Thank you both for your replies. I will await further replies before I book, since I don't want to be the last guest to occupy a room just before it's refurbished!! The thought of getting a brand-new room is very appealing though.
