Newport Bay Club Lifts - a question

Hi all
Disneyfoo and I are staying on the Admiral's Floor of Newport Bay Club starting next Wednesday. We'd like to know if there's any stairs down to the lobby and breakfast areas, and how easy they are to get to from the lifts. I don't mind waiting for a lift and being in it with other people, but DF is scared of lifts, bless him! He really does not want to be in a crowded lift, so is wanting to take the stairs while I go in the lift.

I was at the NBC earlier this week - not in the Admirals Club but the other side - and never saw any stairs from the room areas down to the lobby. That is not saying they are not there but I just did not see them.

If you go the restaurant on the first floor (the lobby is on the second floor) then there are stairs that go down there. These are back behind the lobby and in fact are also the stairs that take you to ground level where you can walk to DLP. I always took the lift down from the third floor (where my room was) to the second floor and then walked the stairs down to gound level in the back. Well, not always. One day I figured I could go straight on the lift from 3rd floor to 1st floor and exit the building to DLP, but that did not work and I had to take the lift back up to 2nd floor and then go down the stairs. I never figured this out completely and just followed what I knew worked.

It's useful to know that the lobby is on the second floor and the restaurant is on first, thanks very much!

If anyone knows where the stairs are on the Admiral's Floor that would be very very helpful! Knowing that there's a set behind the lobby is useful

There are stairs. We were on the 5th floor so did not use them too often. These stair will only take you to the lobby floor and you still need to go down the stairs at the back of the lobby to get to the breakfast room and the rear ext to the lake and DLP.

I think that from the lift if you turned left and walked to the end of the corridor the stair were through a door to the right, I can't really remember but there should be a sign as they would be the fire exit and they should be marked on the fire evacuation details in the room !!!!. (We were in the left hand sided of the hotel when looking from the front, I presume the if you are on the right hand-side it would be turn right and they would be to your left).

They weren't easy to find and DH only found them by accident whilst looking for the ice machine, but they are there.
