Thinking of booking the newport bay club but the reviews aren't great.

I would have like the Sequoia lodge but cant get my dates.

I think my DD would really like a pool or I would have booked the cheyenne.

We have stayed there a couple of times and have enjoyed it each time, no problems with the rooms, breakfast nice and I find the hotel is very light.

The only thing I would say is that because it is a very big hotel if your room is at the end of the hotel then you have a very long walk!!!! If this does not appeal to you then you can pay extra for the admirals floor which I think ensures your room is in the middle of the hotel. The extra cost for the admirals floor in my opinion is not worth it for any other reason.

The only reason we are going to the HNY this year is that it is nearer to the park and they do hot food at breakfast (to keep the men happy!)

I really really hope it is nice, as I've just booked a 5 night stay there. We actually love the Sequoia Lodge and were set to go there, but it was only £47 more to go to NPB, and as we've never been there I was tempted into booking. I just hope I am not stuck in one of the far reaches of the hotel. :scared:

We have stayed at the SL twice ... we prefer the SL at xmas.

The NB is light and the breakfasts are nicer than the SL (in my opinion).

Like you say, if you get a good deal it is nice to try a different hotel.

Is it worth ringing back and asking them to put on their "request form" that you have a room in the "middle" of the hotel? No harm in asking !

Robert and myself stayed here last September and it was a really nice hotel... Seriously, don't worry about it! I know it's got a bad press by some people, but I can honestly say we really enjoyed staying here. We did, personally, prefer the theming of the Sequoia Lodge, but we live near the seaside, so seasidey theming is lost on us anywhere! It's a really nice place to stay..... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I love the NPB and in my opinion the SL doesn't even come close. I'm sure you won't be disappointed but as mentioned it is a very large hotel, so if the walk is going to be a problem I'd put in a request not to be in the wings.

Thank you, I am booked :cool1: in at the NBC for 5 nights in Aug. First time at Disneyland Paris but have been to Florida a few times.

I did as suggested and asked to be in the main part of the hotel not the wings but I'm sure it will be fine whatever.

BTW - The lifts can get busy, in all honesty there aren't enough lifts for the size of the hotel, but we found some stairs, they were very large and concrete, obviously meant for service and fire exit, but on the mornings there was already a queue at the lifts we headed for these, only thing is I can't remember how to get to them, we were on floor 7 and almost next door to the lifts, I think we headed down the corridor to the East Wing to find them, but couldn't swear to that.

I'm sure you'll have a fab time, my advice - whatever hotel you stay in is to make the effort and get down early to breakfast 7.00 - 7.15, that way you avoid the crowds and queues and we've never had a problem turning up at this time when our allocated breakfast slot has been later. :)

Some people love it. For us, it is the worst hotel in DLP. Pretty on the outside, and nice foyer, but not enough lifts or cast members and poorly maintained.

If you are not used to staying in hotels, you will probably love it (most that do like it have few points of reference). But I stay in hotels virtually every week, and have stayed in 18 Disney hotels around the globe. Unless it is the cheapest, I never intend on returning to the NBC.

But the positives - the pool is nice. Also, be sure to be to the first seating of breakfast for the most civilised experience.
