Was at the store when it opened this am in Orland Pk,Il. I thought it very nice, bright ,cheerful and crowded....special sections for all the Princess items, Buzz Woody and Jesse towards the back....also had beds, tables and chairs and mirrors....loads of kids clothes, no adult.....lots of bedding and bath....the lines got long quickly.what a surprise....

I stopped by in the evening to see the "new" store. The lines were still incredibly long. I was disappointed in the new setup. Everything I went to shop for wasn't there. No Mindy doll, clothes for the doll, craft kits, holiday items, etc. I visit the store just about everytime I am at the mall - every year we buy new ornaments. You wouldn't even know the holidays were just around the corner at that store. Hopefully they will include some of the old ways in the future.

We stopped by there this morning. It was MOBBED. I like the new set-up. It reminds me of the home store in the marketplace at Disneyworld. They did have a Christmas section by the Pooh stuff and the clerk told me that they will be getting more toys in stock. They had to transfer most of their inventory out and wait for new stuff to come in. I got the cutest varsity jacket with Mickey on the back for $19.99 and a Buzz sweater for $15. I used my $10 coupon and had to return something so it was a good deal for me. :)

We have the new Disney "Kids & Home store" in Troy, Michigan. They will not have adult clothing any longer. The kids may have fun playing throughout the store. I questioned the CM about the 'wigs' in the princess area. I hate kids trying on hats let alone wigs (little critters - yuk!). The store was all organized by theme - ie. Pooh, Toy Story, Princess', Monsters, etc. There was one small section in the back near Pooh with Christmas items. I was told that the Collectibles section of all the Disney stores have been eliminated. This new Disney Play concept is being tried at 13 stores nationwide.

I used my $10 gift certificate but they would not let me use the snowglobe coupon until Monday when their special starts. It isn't hard to figure that they will not get a truck delivery on a Sunday for the Monday morning morning promotion.

They did give me a certificate for $5 off a $25 purchase good for December 7th - 15th good at the Somerset Collection in Troy only.

We just went to the 'new' store in Orland this evening. And we loved it! We liked the seperate areas for all the characters. Even the little baby area had some cute stuff (I'm expecting this coming July!). We went there with several coupons and the $10 dollar gift cards the store gave out the other week (with a $30 purchase) and we saved a bunch of $$. We bought our 4yr old DD the varsity jacket with Jessie on the back sale priced for $19.99, minus a $10 gift card.
And we were given several coupons to return Dec 7th - 15th, $5 off with a $25 purchase. Overall we bought a bunch of stuff, used several coupons (split into seperate purchases), and our Disney Club card and only spent slightly under $20!!!!

Good shopping night!!!

I went to the new Oakbrook store today. It is sooo different from the Orland Square store. I didn't like it at all. It is much smaller and lookes like a K-B toys with little theming and metal shelves. No carpeting on the floor. Very sterile and un-fun.
