I have been reading the boards for awhile, but just today registered.

My first trip to WDW was October, 1971. I was there both the day before the official dedication and the day of the dedication. I was only 4 at the time so I don't personally remember a lot. My parents said they purposely avoided the dedication ceremonies. I have been going back on average ever 2 - 4 years depending on what was going on in my life at the time. My grandparents lived in Orlando before the mouse came to Orlando. My grandfather worked at the same facility where the original Mark IV monorails were built. Their original house in Orlando was destroyed to make way for I-4. Their second house was within a block of where D.A.R.Y.L. was filmed. Eventually they moved out of Orlando due to the crowds.

Have stayed:
off property (grandparent's house)
Howard Johnson's Lake Buena Vista
Shades of Green
Polynesian
Caribbean Beach Resort
All-Star Movies
Pop (will be staying there within 8 days)

Finally actually registered for the site.

Thank you for the welcome. Yes I have a pretty long history with Disney. I don't go as often as Florida residents or yearly people, but I have seen most of the changes. We usually went to every new park either opening week or within a few months of the opening. I remember going to Universal Studios (yeah I know it isn't Disney) the week it opened, actually got free return trip tickets since it was opening week and they were having so many issues.

I have been to Disney as a young kid, teenager, newly turned 21 adult, young adult and parent with kids.

I have been with my parents, by myself, with a high school choir, and with a large extended family. It is great seeing it in all the different ways.

My wife when she was growing up went EVERY year and stayed in a camper in Fort Wilderness.

That is so awesome! My first trip was not until I was 28 years old! I've got lots of catching up to do now that we are empty nesters!
