Do all your points have to be available at time of booking reservation? Could i book a reservation for first week of december 2012 (in january 11 months out at home resort) using my points that become available august 2012?

Your points need to be available for the date your reservation begins. So for a reservation in December 2012 you can easily use your 2012 points even though you make your reservation at the 11 month mark.

BTW, also for a reservation in your 2012 UY (August 1, 2012 through July 31, 2013), you can borrow points from your 2013 UY if needed.

One slight clarification on DenLo's response. The points need to be available on the night they're used, not necessarily the first day of your reservation.

For example, if you have an August use year and check in on July 31st for 7 nights, you can use points from one use year on the first night and the next use year for the rest of your nights without having to bank/borrow. You can book the entire trip on August 31st of the year before (if staying at your home resort where there's the 11-month booking priority).
