Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Wouldn't it be nice if they simply popped out when they were done?

Wouldn't it? I keep feeling pressure up high, like she's pushing with her legs against the top of my uterus. I hope she's practicing for birth, pushing off so she can help squeeze herself outta there. :rotfl:

First I want to eat after the baby comes is an Italian grinder with hot peppers. Just because I can't eat cold cuts I have been dying for one.

This pregnancy things I love are grapefruit, chinese hot & sour soup, wonton soup, and cheesecake. OJ is still giving me heartburn.

I feel like lately all I have been able to eat are carbs. I feel like such a bad mommy.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Thats funny! Both of mine are doing that. Its like they put their feet on my ribs and just push with all their might. Then their little heads bounce off my bladder and I pee a little. :crazy2:

Im bad. There are very few things I have stopped eating, or drinking during this pregnancy. I am not a huge sushi fan.. but cant eat, so THAT is what Im craving! and a margarita. NO. A virgin margarita wont cut it. I want BOOZE!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Im BORED. and my back itches. But I cant reach it. Ugh. Im so tired of laying around all day. My bathroom smells funny.. but you KNOW if I tried to get down there and clean it, I would get stuck on the floor.. and have to wake up my husband... and he would yell at me for doing stuff im not supposed to. Its a vicious cycle I tell ya. :lmao:

My first one! How'd I do?

Looks good to me :thumbsup2

...as for orange juice... YUM!... I can't drink enough either...
(btw, I hated.. LOATHED orange juice before, couldn't stand the taste of it..)

I work next door to a grocery store and I go through a gallon a week or so while I am at work... Scrumptious!!

Only I don't pair it with tacos, I pair it with chocolate.
DH thinks I'm so gross! :lmao:

...so I've got a question for folks, pleaseeee...
Did you ever go days, when you were this early (21 weeks-ish) where you felt your baby ALL THE TIME.. I swear it was like he was doing gymnastics in there... to nothing?
I haven't felt him in days and its starting to creep me out a little but since I'm so early still I think it's just nerves driving me crazy. I'm sure he is fine. Just wanted confirmation that it is normal not to feel him constantly this early.
( I did call my doc, but they were closed!)

Drink a glass of orange juice and lay on your left side. Should get baby moving. but yes.. When I was first feeling movement, it wasnt nearly as regular as it is now.

I've been bad, too.
I'm addicted to pop. Seriously, addicted.

I've switched to 1-2 cans a day of stuff like Sunkist, 7UP, A&W, Caffeine Free Pepsi and all that but I just couldn't give it up. Sometimes I don't drink it, I've got lemonade on standby in the fridge.. but other days I can't resist.

I also eat whatever I want, when I want. (Hard to resist when there is a grocery store NEXT DOOR to your office and I can throw a stick and hit Krogers from my back porch! :rotfl: )
I had acid reflux before I got pregnant and the doc ok'ed the meds I took daily, but I only take them on the days that it starts to act up (basically, whenever I'm craving Chili or Spaghetti or anything with tomatos in it! :scratchin )

My other cravings have been fruits and veggies (which is probably why I've only gained 3lbs.. the thought of a burger turns my stomach!)... and SALADS!
There is an italian restaurant here that has the BEST house cheese salad with fresh mozzarella and this dressing that is to DIE for. Their garlic toast rocks my socks, too! The salads are $9 bucks a pop, so I don't get them often.. but ohmygoodness. Yum! :upsidedow

Oh, and Cheez-Its with 7UP. YUMMY. lol.

Thanks ... just a little unsettling to go from constant to nothing.
I couldn't get him moving at all last night, I tried laying on both sides.
He'll come back and drive me nuts later, I'm sure! :goodvibes

Ride Junkie- Congrats! We are due the same week. I have my level II u/s Feb. 5th. I can't wait to find out the sex. It is driving my poor husband nuts.

I too have been having a thing for OJ and oranges. MMMmmmmm..... That and I have to have my late afternoon snack of 1 Pop Tart. So wierd.

Hope everyone is having a great day:thumbsup2

Thanks Sarah! All this time, I had wondered how I would be able to give up the list....today, when I saw you had done it, I was so thankful!:worship:

3 cm dialated. He's been turned the wrong way, so once my little one is better, I will catch up on sleep and then do my special exercises to turn him around and get some more dilation!:thumbsup2

So.. I know it's not like the movies, but when are you supposed to go to the hospital? How far dialated? (I think contractions go with that, too, right? I'm such a newbie! :rotfl: )

I take it you're happy, though.. from the thumbs up, so congrats! pixiedust:

Generally.. You go to the hospital when you are having contractions that are 3-5minutes apart. Unless you are a circus person, there is no checking your own dilation!

I have never gone into birth naturally.. But I know once my contractions started, there was NO mistaking what those puppies were! YEEEEOUUUUCH!!!

With my DS my water broke first thing in the morning before I got out of bed.
Contractions followed soon after.

Believe me, you will know! But remember it is all worth it.

Hmm..
See, I've been enrolled in a "Super Saturday" class by my hospital in April for DH and myself.
It's a catholic hospital and they're big on "hands on". So, I will learn all this stuff there, they claim.. the individual Dr.'s just don't cover it, as the hospital does. I swear I am not helpless. :p I will learn, I just haven't been too concerned until this class hits.
I think to convince me to go to it, they mentioned that I get two meals.. FREE! :rotfl2:

Speaking of classes...who has or is taking birthing classes?

We didn't, it was just to hard with my DH's work schedule. Being a first time mom I was worried about choosing not to go, but the Dr., my DH, and nurses were wonderful.

Free food!! Im in. :rotfl2: They will cover all of that with you... Do you get to see a childbirth video? That is always gaggles of fun!:rotfl2: I really liked the hospital tours. Is that included with your class? I feel a lot better knowing what is going to happen, and where.

Never have. We took a sibling class with my second, and that was wonderful. They even took the kids up to L&D, and showed them what a new baby looked like. They went over all kinds of baby care, and what to expect when the new baby came home, and how they can help their mommies and such.

This time I just did the hospital tour.. They said no kids, becaus ewe would be going to the NICU. So I went alone.. YOu KNOW everyone else had thier kids there. :sad2:

Yep, I was pumped. She said "We supply breakfast and lunch and usually a snack in between!" I was like "YESSS!"
Best part, this hospital has GOOD food... I volunteered in the kitchen in high school and used to snack all day. (I know where they keep the Oreos :rolleyes1 )

Anyway- yep. She said they do it ALL. It's all day. I don't know about a video? But she told me to bring a blanket and a stop watch because they'll teach DH how to time my contractions and such.
Also, I get the tour... woohoo maternity ward. I've been there before, but I was in 6th grade.. so uh, that was 10 years ago and I don't remember.
I'm excited to see that, and I'm sure some things have changed in 10 years.

They also go over breastfeeding, nursing, post-partum stuff, etc.

My doctor did warn me about that time that I might go for a day or so without feeling anything, and my sister said that was the case for her. I was 18 weeks along when I was sure I felt movement, but it was very faint. Me personally, I haven't gone a day without feeling anything, but there were definitely days when it would just be a couple of pokes, then the next day--fetal Olympic training. At this point, I can just watch the movements in my belly. She'll make it move even if I don't really feel it.
