Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Morning/evening sickness returned tonight while I was cooking dinner. I have had a good couple of weeks. :scared:

December, hope you are feeling better since your fall. Let us know about your Dr. appt tomorrow.

Ann

My sister said the same thing....and 4 different swings later, my boy NEVER liked the swing. We tried front to back, side to side, Amby, and Newborn Soothing Center....not so much on any of them. He prefers to be still to sleep.... I swear I thought something was wrong because so many babies liked the swing. I kept 2 of them and will try again when this one gets here, but not all babies like the swing...but I think most do....LOL

lol everyone is different. And I'm sure the swing isn't the only reason I have trouble falling asleep!

I'll be 23 wks tomorrow. I'm sure I'm fine, but nervous. And I'm still vomiting every time I eat. I can't blame it on the fall, though. I started doing it last night. I had a ton of stuff due for my grad class, and lots of grading for my classes at school, so I think I'm just exhausted.

:grouphug: My mom fell a couple times with me and a couple with my brother. I turned out great and bro is healthy (just annoying! lol) I hope you can keep something down! I swear sometimes my body just gets really ticked about something I've eaten and makes me miserable for a couple days. It can even be something that was helping the day before that.
I get to pick my baby's birthday on Wed...or rather take my first attempt at it. I'm a scheduled csection, so we're looking at the week of 4/27.

But..I could go earlier if this one is huge like my 2 year old. I'm hoping she's going to send me for an ultrasound soon, they are going to keep a closer eye on him. With my 2 year old I was measuring 7-8 lbs at 32 weeks and they said, no way, that has to be off. It was dead on, as he was 11 lbs born at 38.5 weeks.

It's my 24 week check on wed (but I'll be almost 25 weeks) last ultrasound was at 18 weeks. I get to go for another 3 hour glucose. I passed about 6 weeks ago when they did it early. Oh boy...let the fun begin :)

It would be cool to pick out the b-day! My birthday's the 6th of April so that's too early to try and coax you into! :thumbsup2

My brothers birthday is on 4/6 and he has already tried!! 4/27 is my 1/2 birthday :thumbsup2 4/16 was my grandfathers, so that's a little earlier..if I end up having to go early.

Hello all! I just came across this thread and was hoping I could join in. I am at 16 weeks and hopefully will find out next Monday what I am having. Has anyone on here ever had a Level II u/s? My doc told me that since I will be 35 when the baby is born, that I have to have a Level II.

I had one with my 11 month old (I was 40) and will have another one in about 2-3 weeks on this pregnancy. It gives the perinatologist a chance to check that all is good and that babe is developing properly. They take measurements of many key areas of the baby...ie length of leg bones, heart valve function, head circumference, abdomen circumference, blood flow of the umbilical cord, amniotic fluid levels, different facial features, areas of the spine, can find out boy/girl. I have had CVS testing (for genetic problems) and my OB still wants me to get a Level II to look for other things that are not genetic. You can get some great US photos as my peris US machine is soooo much better than my OB's and I am happy to take any chance to see my little one I can.

My first was under suspicion of Growth Restriction...but ultimately was perfect. But it was good to monitor - I ended up getting ultrasounds weekly at the Perinatologists office at the end.

I am excited to have mine since I still dont have a good US pic of this pregnancy.

Good luck! and I am happy to help if you have any more questions.

Michelle

That was supposed to be my birthday! They were going to induce my mom b/c of stress (her mom died) but they were too busy when she got there and they sent her home.
So she was induced and I was born on the 7th! :thumbsup2

Welcome! Hope I got your date right! If not, let me know and I will change it.

I had level II u/s's every two weeks at the end. They are just like NEM described.:goodvibes

Hey Sarah!!! Next time we are both on, we'll do the "switch-off" if that's ok with you. :cool1:

bk---Definitely will start a New Mom's Thread....maybe we'll call it New 2009 Mom's or something like that. What do you all think?

MMKK, welcome. I had a level II US with DS (2). I am going for one with this baby next Monday 26th. Just like the others described just age precaution. I cant wait to see a clearer picture of our little one and know what we are having.

I'm here and should be around most of the day. Just let me know!

How are you doing?

So I've been a little quiet here. At my first appt last week, the doc did an u/s & could not get a good look. :( So she sent me for beta HCG blood draws, to make sure my levels were rising appropriately. Those came back fine. Whew. I must be highly suggestable, as once I knew she was doing the blood test to make sure the pregnancy was viable, I no longer felt pg.

I had half convinced myself that maybe there just wasn't/would not be a baby after all. I was kind of surprised to hear that the blood work looked good. Relieved, but surprised as well.

So next appt is next week, when I should be about 8 1/2 weeks along. Hopefully by then she'll be able to get a better view on the u/s.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes and yes ADAMANDLISA you did get my due date right! I see I share it with one other on the thread. Thats pretty neat!

I am definitely not worried about the Level II. Thank you for all the comforting info! How does it compare to a 4-D u/s though? are they similar in pictures?

I still have the nausea but its pretty much only when I get hungry (so it come anytime during the day) but I typically only "lose it" in the mornings. Now with the recent recall on peanut butter crackers, its even harder in the morning because I don't have those to settle my stomach while I fix some breakfast! Ugh! Although, did anyone else hear that they okayed jarred peanut butter but are still banning other peanut butter products? My local news mentioned it this morning but I never know when they have good info!

My first and only other pregnancy went very smoothly so I am expecting the same with this one and so far, except for the continued nausea, its been "normal".

Yep.. Regular peanut butter is fine, just the peanut butter stuff you have to watch out for!

What questions can I answer for you on how to do the list?:goodvibes

Ummm...I can't think of anything really. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

I wish I could convince myself I wasn't pregnant! lol ;) My u/s at 6 weeks barely showed anything. Hopefully everything will be perfect next week.

Its brutal when there is uncertainty! I had the blood test for Down's Syndrome at my next to last appt and (luckily I had forgotten what they had drawn blood for) I got a call a few weeks later leaving me a msg on my cell saying to call them back because they had the results. Now A. I didn't get the msg for some reason until a couple of days later and on a Sat.! and B. I never get called about blood/lab tests unless there are problems so I was freaked out until I could call them Monday morning. Luckily everything was okay and they told me "Oh,we always call people with the results of these tests no matter the outcome" Well, they could've told me that when they took the blood!

Sometimes they cause us to freak out when there isn't a definite reason to freak out!

Welcome! :cheer2:

I had a level 2 ultrasound in September (DH has clubfeet so they were checking for that). It looks more like a normal ultrasound, not at all like the 3D/4D ones.

Oh CRAP. Speaking tests.. I forgot to go have my gestational diabetes test last week!:crazy2: I go back to the Dr. tomorrow.. Hopefully she wont string me up.
