Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

I won't start showing for awhile since I'm fluffy already. I do already want to buy a pair of maternity pants or a bella band, cuz my jeans are just not comfy around the waist right now.

I did a google search about that and came up with nearly every single week imaginable. It's different for each person.

Okay. To further my "Everybody is different" thoughts (and justifying the want to smack my ABM who I normally love dealy :rotfl:)
..
Heather has made things easy on us. She has posted (and I have lurked) a lot of pictures of her pregnancy at different stages.
10 weeks:
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=27476741&postcount=983
13 weeks:
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=27897297&postcount=1075
Which is me in 3 days... and I think she is proving that there is a major difference in just three weeks.
I didn't think I was too crazy to think I was already showing a little.
(I'm a little on the fluffy side, too, but it is OBVIOUS there is something happening with my tummy!)

And then there is 20 weeks to further my point..
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=28767408&postcount=1331

..she is definitely showing and definitely not 6 months pregnant!

Stupid ABM. :rotfl:

(Heather, thanks for posting all that so I could make myself feel better and provide photographic evidence. Hope this was okay to do!! :goodvibes )

It really depends on your body type. You also show quicker with each pregnancy, because the muscles are stretched and won't hold your stomach in as much each time. I started wearing maternity around 14 wks-about 2 wks now. I'll be 16 wks Monday. But this is my 3rd baby, and I'm only 5'2", and very short waisted. This baby has nowhere to go but out. I've lost 5 lbs, but my stomach and ****s are larger-just enough to make my clothes uncomfortable. I ordered a ton of stuff from jcpenney.com's outlet, and picked up some stuff yesterday from Burke's Outlet here in town. I think I have enough to get me through this pregnancy.

Still nauseous here. It comes and goes. I'm worried about the headaches that could be around the bend for me as I had been getting menstrual migraines for about the last year or so.

How far along are you? I'm going to the Dr next Wednesday for my first appointment. I can't wait!

I haven't had any really strong cravings. Little things here and there, but nothing I couldn't ignore.

I have a question. I know we're supposed to avoid deli meats, but does that include cheese too? I don't know if I can survive on PB&Js for the next 8 months.

i had really bad headaches early on in pregnancy...as soon as I found out I was pregnant I quit my diet coke cold turkey and my dr told me I should have weaned myself....did you quit caffiene cold turkey??

As for deli meats...you can eat them as long as they are cooked for at least 7 seconds. I just ate hot sandwiches.

I pretty much did quit cold turkey and I didn't get headaches.

Thanks for posting the links Patsy!! I wish my tummy looked like Heather's! Wow! By those pics, I probably won't really be showing until 20 weeks or so.

Thanks to Heather for updating so well. I'd never keep up with something like that, but I find myself resorting back to her thread to compare her pregnancy with my own (like, when did she do this at the DR., when did she do that?, etc) :rotfl:

Mine won't look like hers for awhile (she is so tiny!) but I think it's obvious there is something going on with my stomache. If I were brave enough, I'd post pictures just to reassure myself. But alas.. I am not quite that brave!!

Either way, she's showing at 4.5 months, definitely not the 6... and I'm pretty sure she was showing quite obviously way before then too.
Again, I say-- silly manager! :goodvibes

Hmm. Okay.

Another question-- when did you guys start showing??

I was staring down at my tummy at work today and my Assistant Manager said "Yeah, right. You won't show until 6 months."

...I told her there is NO way that is true but she actually laughed at me and said I was kidding myself if I thought I'd show before that.

...there is no way I am going another three months without people knowing there is someone in there!!
I wanted to smack her but I think that was the horomones! ;)

That's such bunk!! I hate when people apply blanket statements to everyone's pregnancies!!

I'm QUITE fluffy, and my bump first made an appearance at 11 weeks!! By 14 weeks everyone knew I was pregnant, and now, at 21 weeks, people are presuming I'm due before Christmas! I LUV the fact that I actually look pregnant, and not just 'extra fat' like a coworker told me to expect.

I showed with my first around 4 or 5 months.. I was a lot smaller though. With my second, I didnt show until about 6 months.. But I was fairly over weight then. Still am, but I look full term right now. I am bigger NOW then I was when I gave birth to my second. I am also rapidly outgrowing my maternity clothes. FUN!:lmao:

I'm actually really anxious to start showing more. I'm at 19 weeks and, although I have cracked open the maternity clothes for comfort, my belly is kind of lost in the bagginess. I can definitely tell that there's a baby there when I'm not clothed but I want everyone to know.

I just went to disneyshopping.com to look for dd9 a digital camera (the tinkerbell camera was listed as a top ten for kids), and discovered that they have maternity clothes! I've never noticed them before-I'm ordering a pink tink tshirt for myself! I'm waiting until in the morning to place the order-just in case there are some cyber Monday deals-but thought you would all like to know!

Very interesting! I made my own shirts for our last trip...they were so cute, that I'm almost disappointed that I'll never wear them again. Almost.;)

Has anyone ever had a 3-D ultrasound? I am assuming these are an out of pocket expense. Just wondering about how much they cost and if you thought it was worth it?

Thanks,
Mrs. Disney Ron

Great question!

Ladies, I'm feeling pretty horrible today. I can't keep anything down and everything is making me queasy. I go to the dr on Wednesday and I think I'll be asking for anti-nausea pills. Did anyone take them? Did they help?

Oh YES. I did. I got Reglan, and let me tell ya. I was ALIVE again! :lmao: I couldnt do anything before i got the pills, I was either laid out on the couch, or leaning over the potty. The meds helped out so much!

I hope your doc can help you out!

As for the 3D ultrasound, I'm not planning on getting one. They look nifty, though!

I got one and it was covered by my insurance. BUT baby was not cooperating...kept on having his hands in his face (he still likes them in his face) so we did not get many good shots. We got the dvd from it but we never watched as we know we did not get any good pictures. We had to wait until he was born to see what he looked like.

now I have a question. Does anyone have an anterior placenta? Baby A has one, and it just freaks me out. I cant feel him move, and I dont feel all the bumps and bulges on him that I do with his sister. Every one tells me its normal, but guess what? When I have one baby cruising around like she is on speed.. and then NOTHING from the other baby.. Its a little unnerving!

Thanks! I started feeling really faint and jittery, so I called the dr and she chastised me for not calling sooner. She called the prescription in for me and DH is going to get it (I'm at work).

I've lost like 7 pounds. But I thought it was normal, so I was just putting up with it...Until I started feeling like I was dehydrated.

Now if I can keep down the granola bar and water.

I've lost 5 lbs on the Reglan-I'd probably be in the hospital without it. I haven't thrown up yet today!:cool1: That is a rare day for me.

Here the 4-d ultrasound is $200 out of pocket, so I doubt I'll get one. If I do, it will be around 30 wks. I have my regular sonogram Dec. 23, so hopefully the baby will cooperate and I'll know what I'm having before Christmas.

Are you still nauseous all the time? Do you actually want to eat?
