Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Morning sickness strikes that soon, yes. I actually was feeling a little queasy a couple of days before I took the pregnancy test. :rotfl:

I did too. That makes me feel better! But I know for the next few weeks I'll be thinking, "That could mean its twins, right?" for every little thing! lol

I agree MS can start immediately. With DS I was sick before I took a test too. So far with this pregnancy my MS has been kinder to me.

How long did you feel sick with DS? I'm going to WDW in under 4 weeks and I think it's gonna be a fun trip! lol

It's a crapshoot. I wasn't very sick at all in my first trimester, but my sister was sick through her second trimester. Do not eat too much at once or let your stomach get very empty; both made me feel crummy. Even if you don't really feel like eating, you have to eat something. I found some chewable papaya tablets in our local health food store, and they helped me a lot when queasiness struck.

You really do not want me to answer that one?!?!?! :rotfl: With him I had MS everyday for 5 months.

I didnt do WDW that early in my pregnancy. I was about 4-5 months and had the worst bus ride from a park. When you are sick you just want to get back to your resort. I thought I was going to get sick the entire ride. DH & I are going in March. I told him no problem as long as we have a rental car.

You will enjoy your trip, just at a different pace than you are probably use to.
Enjoy the time with your DH while it is just the two of you. Life becomes wonderfully different after with a new addition.:cloud9:

Congrats harley!

It does make for a long pregnancy to find out so early - I'm almost 7 weeks, and I've already known I was pregnant for over 3 weeks! I feel like it's already been so long, and I'm still so early! We haven't told anyone yet, it's still our secret. DH does not do well with secrets though, and he's about to burst. We have our 2nd ultrasound tomorrow, and we're planning to tell our parents this weekend if everything goes well again.

We may tell a couple close family members at Thanksgiving (it may be my only chance to see my brother in person before we spread the news to everyone at Christmas). I figured out something cool - I will be 8 weeks exactly on Thanksgiving Day, and 12 weeks exactly on Christmas Day.

I think DH and I are going to do the 1st trimester screening. We already talked about it with my doctor, and we have to let him know our decision at my next appointment on 12/2. We are both young, and low risk, but I do like to be prepared. I am prepared for the reality of the screening - there can be false positives, and it really doesn't give any answers, just ratios and likelihood. Plus, I do like the idea of having another ultrasound at 11-13 weeks before the big 20 week one.

That's what I'm discovering. I noticed I feel better when I eat something, but not too much. Thanks!

lol If a bad bus ride is the worst thing, I'll be happy!

I wish I could've kept my mouth shut, especially with my increased likelihood of miscarriage, but oh well. You guys have a great plan.

We're going to tell the rest of the family at Thanksgiving.

Just a little update on me!

Sunday night I wasn't feeling well - feeling very achy and crampy but didn't worry too much because I had an OB appointment Monday morning at 9am. I went in for my OB appointment feeling 10 times worse and had an NST done and found out that I was having contractions every 2-3 minutes apart. I had a cervix check and I am 50% effaced and 2cm dilated. So my OB send me to the birthing center and they were finally able to stop labor after 4 hours and thankfully I am back home but on complete bedrest now. Just shower, potty, and eat then back to bed. My goal is 36 weeks and my OB says she doesn't see me making it too far past that since it took so much to stop my labor this time. So it looks like my little girl is impatient and wants to be an early December baby instead of a January baby!

I'm so glad they were able to stop your labor. Take it very easy for the next 3 weeks!!! Don't get hopes up too high, though, about an early delivery! They told me that I would give birth the first week I went off of bed rest at 36 weeks....DS#1 was induced past my due date!!!;)

We found out a little past 5 weeks and couldn't help ourselves. DH called his mom (his father had just passed away so she is loving the news!)
We told my parents the next day, as they were on vacation and the very next day was his birthday. I called and said "Happy Birthday!" and he said "Yeah, your mom told me I looked a year older this morning." and I said "Did she think you looked like a grandpa too?"
It was a perfect way to tell them. Except for my mom breaking down into tears. :rotfl:

I was the one that is bad with secrets, DH probably could have waited until two weeks before our due date to tell everyone but his mom. Then again his mom has a big mouth.. so I guess he realizes she'd tell everyone for him!

I think we're going to skip the screening. I love to be prepared too... but our insurance won't cover any of it and so we'd rather spend the money on a nice weekend away relaxing just the two of us before the baby. I'm young (21) and there is no family history of anything on either side so thats how we made our decision. Part of me still wants to but also knows if I got a positive I would have been so upset and worried the rest of my pregnancy and I don't think thats a good way to go for #1!

That was a great way to tell your parents! We're trying to figure out what to do this weekend when we tell them. We might incorporate the pictures from the ultrasound tomorrow. Unfortunately, it's not the first grandchild on either side, so we can't really do anything cute that way. It will likely be the first grandchild where the annoucement will bring only happiness and not concern too - we are both the oldest kids, we own a house, and we are the only ones married at the time of getting pregnant - we both have brothers who got married when their girlfriends got pregnant. Although our parents love their grandkids, there was definitely some worry when our brothers announced they were having babies.

Our insurance does cover the NT scan, which was a big reason I think we're going to do it. If we had to pay for it, I think we would skip it too!

My plan was to make a dinner of baby back ribs, baby spinach salad, baby carrots--you get the idea. :teeth: Oh course I just called over the phone and my mom was freaking out before I actually told her---I don't think I ever did say the words, "I'm pregnant" lol

So did anyone have morning sickness really early that stopped after the first week or so? Cuz that's what I want to hear right now! :teeth: lol

Thats awesome. When I told my mom about the twins.. I was VERY upset. I had just gotten back from the ultrasound and I was just freaking out. Bawling my head off. She answers the phone, and all I can get out was that I just got home from the Dr. She thought I was DYING! :lmao: When I finally got out that I was just pregnant with twins.. She laughed at me. :lmao:

Mmmmm... no. not me. Sorry. I was sick up until 14 or 15 weeks or so. REALLY sick. My Dr. put me on Reglan, which just made me sleep through it.

We are telling our daughter tonight....I can't wait any longer. We went to the doctor today and everything was fine and we have the sonogram picture to show her. We also bought a cookie bouquet and have a baby carriage cookie, bottle cookie, rattle cookie and on a couple of the cookies it spells out Congrats Big Sister!:yay:

I just hope she is as excited as I want her to be.:cloud9:

Not prepared as in "Holy crap, I can't take care of an infant right now!"
Or not prepared as in... there is no nursery to speak of? ;)

We had our home inspection on the house tonight-- it passed with flying colors! We are so excited now just have to cross our fingers the underwriters and the appraisors don't get too nitpicky over things. I work for the bank so we're hoping it's smooth sailing since the loan is the last kink to work out!!

I can already see my nursery and I don't even own it quite yet! :rotfl:

It's so funny how near the end, we are ready to be done and get them out, yet when you really think about them coming, we're never ready yet!:lmao: I'm still wondering if I'll ever be ready for this one!:scared1:
