I think the 16th she said? I think the online calculators put me at June 20th? All I know is I've never gone past 38 weeks so we'll see. I don't see the OB until the 17th, and she said she'd do an U/S then so I should get a good date at that point.

MAN! I really want an ultrasound for piece of mind. I think that goes with the territory of first pregnancy, though.
Twins run in my family (like, heavily- paternal grandmother was a fraternal twin, she had siblings that were twins, one of her siblings had twins, etc) and everyone is telling me it's my turn.

Plus, I think I need to see it to believe it. I haven't gotten sick or any of that normal stuff (but neither did my mom or my MIL)

My OB won't do one until JANUARY!

I know what you mean about not believing until you see it for yourself. A couple of lines on a stick is one thing, but a video (even a grainy black and white one) is another thing entirely. I got pregnant so quickly after going off the pill, I had a hard time believing it was for real.

Yep. Same here. Ours was an "oops" moment, though. BC I was on screwed me up (no . for over two months ) so Dr. switched me to a new one. FIL died, . started, I was an hour from home w/o the prescription and we both forgot (DH was aware of all goings on, I didn't plan this or anything ).
Voila. Baby.

Ok, I brainfarted...I'm 8w I think!!! I skipped a week in there, and being that this pregnancy was a major surprise, I'll take the extra week LOL.

And yes, the first u/s is very reassuring. That stinks you have to wait! I am hoping the receptionist was right and I'm getting one next month. I'm advanced maternal age, if that matters LOL.

We told the kids yesterday, they are both excited, especially our DD. Of course DS wants a boy and DD wants a girl. DH and I just want healthy.

There are tons of twins in my family (both sides) and dh's family, too. I did some research and found that fraternal twins are hereditary, but identical twins just happen. I for one was relieved when the sonogram showed ONE healthy baby! I'm so sick that we weren't sure until then.

Ok guys. I went for my cervical length check-up yesterday and the u/s tech determined that my cervix has grown. Obviously this is inaccurate. For my cervix to grow, I would have to be on serious bedrest! Plus I've been having contractions for about a week. So, it's off to the high-risk doctor tomorrow morning for me. I was hoping to avoid it, but at this point, I'm ready to get an accurate reading. You can't be sent to 3 different places, with 3 different machines and techs, and expect to have accurate readings.

Wish me luck. I'm hoping that I won't need bedrest...especially with my two little ones.
