Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Emily Donna Maria was born Nov 3 at 11:08 am. She is 19 3/4 inches long weighed 6lbs and 6 oz but has lost a lil weight now. Mommy here had her without an epidural. I shocked the doc, hubby and myself with that one. Was induced on the 2nd of nov at 7 pm and had about 4 hours hard labor. We have first doc appt today what fun Am still trying to figure out how to post pics might be awhile

Alright....well for names, this is what we have so far. For boys' names, we have all of 1. Joel. We would like some more options but can't find any other names we like. We're doing better with the girls' names. We've got: Jenny, Jordan, Sarah, and Sophie. What do you all think? Anyone else leaning toward any names? Any ideas?

Names are going to be a problem for us too! Right now we can not come up with a boys name either. With DS it took us forever to finally agree on Luke James, which we love. If we have a girl, we always liked Emma Sophie when we were considering names the last pregnancy.

A boy will be Noah. We picked that name years ago before we became serious about having another one. ds11 is Nicholas, and dd9 is Kimberly. We don't have a girl name picked out-dh doesn't like anything I've suggested. His mind is so on a boy, I think I'll just wait until the 20 wk sonogram and talk aobut girl names if it is a girl.

Just curious... other than those that had ultrasounds for assorted medical reasons (age or whatever)... when did you or will you have your first ultrasound?

My doctor is waiting until 20 weeks. I think I'm gonna explode before that gets here! I haven't even heard a heartbeat yet.

I'm 8.5w and I think my OB is doing an u/s at our first appt. (which will be about 12w).

I'm sorry you haven't heard a h/b yet. I'm so anxious for that moment myself.

We have our names, I think we're freaks for having them set so early but we like knowing we've got something accomplished since we're house hunting and names are about the only thing we can really do to "prepare" for new baby.

Also, we don't want to know the sex so having a name for each made DH okay with not finding out (he wanted to know, I didn't.. and I of course won that argument!)

Our boy name is Lucas Aaron.
Our girl name is Cassidy Dawn.

If we have a girl, we always liked Emma Sophie when we were considering names the last pregnancy.

I like that. But again, I'm partial to Sophie.

With DD...we had a name picked out...Teagan, but as I was in labor we decided on her name (think classic underused name), honestly, the name came out of no where. It wasn't on our list or anything. We used Paige as her middle name.

With DS...I had my list...he vetoed the whole list except one name that was ok to him and it was eh to me but not bad. Then DS is born early at 35 weeks unexpectedly of course, and that one name was all we could agree on. We already knew he was getting a family name as a middle name.

I'm hoping to be more prepared this time around LOL. To me, it sounds weird to name your baby inutero because we never did. We either called the baby princess or peanut or something the whole pregnancy until we met them. Sometimes they are wrong about the sex too LOL.

Heck, if the hot pink crib is free, we might just go for it, whether it's a girl or boy.

We found out--we're just nosy that way. You are quite right that there are a lot of unisex things out there. Clothes, bedding, blankets, all sorts of stuff.

We had a boy's name already chosen well before we started trying, but we're still finalizing the girl's name. DH suggested one yesterday that I really like.

We definitely want to find out as soon as we can. My DH reeeeeally wants a boy. I'll be happy with a healthy baby.

My students keep asking me every day what it's going to be. I keep telling them that I won't know for a few months. They are all very excited about it.

They told me that you can hear the heartbeat, almost always, at 6wks.

The doctor just won't see patients that early and the nurses don't do HB's.

So, I'm seeing the doctor Nov. 14th and I finally get to hear it! I'm excited.
They're doing my US at 19 wks, she said.

They've drawn about a kajillion things of blood, though, so I'm guessing everything is A-OK at this point or they would have told me. Or at least, I would hope they would have told me!

I got my first ultrasound at 11 weeks, but every doc does things differently. I think at about 9-10 weeks they can hear the heartbeat with the doppler.

Just got back from the doc! Baby A is a and Baby B is a ! We are SO excited!!! We are totally even. 2 boys, 2 girls!! The Doc said the babies were both looking fantastic, and both head down now. Now we have to think of names. Oy.

I felt the baby move today.... YEAH!! At first I was like...no way, but how quickly you remember what it feels like.

I think the baby just wants to make me feel better, cuz I've been sick as a dog all week!!!

Ty (my oldest) I felt move around this time.
