Newest "Moms to Be" Thread

Welcome!!! Congrats on your little one. I am glad to have another 'advanced maternal age' mommy on board. I am expecting my second (DS2) and will be 40 when this baby arrives.

How are you feeling?

:bride: Mrs. Disney Ron / Ann

My doctor calls us her elderly parents. She told me she loves her older parents because we are just happy to be having a baby. I will be 38 when the baby comes.

I think I have been really lucky with my m/s. Only had to run to the bathroom one day. The rest of the time between 4pm and 10 pm is when I felt not good. That is all behind me now. The mornings is when I feel the best still. My energy is much better now. Almost normal.

We are going to Disney the second week in March. I hope I still feel good. :)

Oh, one more thing. I just got back from Old Navy to find some bigger clothers. :scared1: I am just now finding my pants to be a wee bit snug. All I feel like wearing are jogging suits. I found some jeans on sale.

Our little guy just could not wait until January 31! My wife stopped by the L&D floor Monday evening to get checked out because she was feeling some pressure. I went over to keep her company, fully expecting to go home an hour or so later. 9 hours later, little Collin was born, 3 and half weeks early. He was 6 pounds 7.8 ounces, lungs and heart checked out just fine.

We were planning to bring him home today, but he had other plans. He's spending another night at the hospital under the ultraviolet lights to fight off a mild case of jaundice. Hopefully we'll be able to bring him home tomorrow.

Now I'm heading back to spend the night at the hospital too!

We go March 28...I am hoping the same thing. Just worried how often I will be in the bathroom by then. Be prepared the bigger the baby the more pressure on the bladder!!:lmao:

Moburg, what a cutie!!! Congrats to you and your family.

Hello girls. I am new to this thread. I too am an older mother. I had the 12 week blood work and ultrasound 3 weeks ago. I did the blood work before the ultrasound so I would get the results right then and there. Everything looks good.:goodvibes The doctor said if she had to guess, we would be having a little girl. That put my husband over the moon. He so wants a little girl. I told him to not run out and buy anything pink yet. :cloud9: Feb 5th I have my 20 week ultrasound, so we should know by then. I can't wait!!!!

This is our first baby after trying for MANY years. My due date is June 27th.

Congrats to everyone and goodluck.

Congratulations! It's nice to have some other AMA's here. I know I am not the oldest person (37 when baby comes) to have a baby and I know that I'm not the first person to have 5 children, but I felt like the world's oldest, most prolific pregnant person ever this morning while talking to the nurse. How exciting to finally have that first baby!

oh...I am AMA too! I was just happy to hear that there is one further category....Geriatric Pregnancy...LOL. Thank goodness I dont qualify for that!

I already had the CVS done at 11 weeks, and all came back great! It was such a relief. I also had it done with my first. I will be 41 when my 2nd little one arrives in July! I was 40 with my first...LOL. He will be 17 months when the new one gets here...I guess my procrastination finally caught up with me. I finally figured out if I wanted more than one child, I had better get busy! I have made peace with the fact it is going to be nuts around here for a while.

So far so good...but count me also as one of those that does not really "like" being pregnant. But the end result is oh so worth it!

Hang in there everyone!

Michelle

I'm not a big fan of the whole process either, but I do enjoy the baby once it gets here. I'm glad everyone who has already done CVS has had good results. I hope that I do too.

Well, I had another appointment today!

Heartbeat didn't change.. hmm..

Ultrasound is Saturday morning!! OHMYGOODNESS!!

Congratulations. Caleb also had to spend 2 days under the lights. He got pretty spoiled in the nursery since he was the only baby there at the time. Weekends are dead times since most drs try to schedule inductions/c-sections..so he had all those nurses to himself. We were very lucky we got to stay in the hospital with him even though I was released the day we were supposed to go home. We got two free days in the hospital (dh and I anyways) to stay in our room. Insurance just credited under Calebs care since he was still not released at the time.

Congratulations to you and your wife! I hope she is recovering well!

Your baby is gorgeous! I really hope I have the right date...I assume that by 9 hours later, you mean the next day. Please let me know how long your little cutie is too!:goodvibes

I can't believe someone due after me had their baby. Guess it really is coming soon!:scared1:

All I know is I'm going to need some major mommy-amnesia to want to go through this again. Either that or the hope that "there's no way I could have another pregnancy with horrible m/s!" :teeth:
My pregnancy amnesia took a long time to fade! It took five years before we decided to have another.

It took me 9 yrs to agree to have another one! I had finally convinced myself that it couldn't have been that bad-that I was just whiny in my 20s. Uh-no! It really is that hard on my body!

Hey mommies! I had to take my GD test this morning. Yuck! I just hope I pass!! Now I have to start going every two weeks. Already!

We'll be leaving on the 16th for a wonderful week at Disney. I hope I don't have to make a pit stop in every bathroom, but that's a highly unlikely scenario.

We have a 3D ultrasound Saturday, so I'm hoping we get a good glimpse at him! Then I have my shower on February 8th, which I'm excited about. Busy times coming up, I know these last 12 weeks are going to fly by. Kinda scary!

Yes, he was born at 2:24am on Tuesday Jan 6th. He is 18.5 inches long. And he has to spend yet another night in the hospital to fight off this jaundice. I'm headed back there in a few minutes.

Uh. What do I need? Hahaha.

I think I need two, right? One infant one and then another when they outgrow infant.

How long are kids supposed to be in car seats? I tried to google it and kept getting weird stuff back.
