"Newest" Moms Hangout... take 2!

we are looking to buy another crib since i don't think that dd will be out of hers before the newest dd is ready for one. we have a hand-me down crib (not even sure the brand)- don't flame me.

i am looking for an inexpensive, good quality convertible crib. we will give the new crib to dd 18mos and the old crib to the new baby until dd is in a bed.

any suggestions?

finally broke down and got a double stroller today. ended up with the graco pippin- got 25% from bru with the trade in deal. not too bad. just not sure if it is going to fit in my trunk!

I have the Graco Sarah..... My mom ordered it from Walmart for us, and it wasless than $150. I like it. They have held up to the twins jumping up and down in them.

thanks- i was looking at that one, but found a few bad reviews about them not being sturdy... i know that some people always find something wrong-

glad to know that you like it.

I finally selected Halloween costumes for my boys. They are going to be Batman and Robin. I actually found both costumes in the right sizes. I am so excited! Halloween is one of the cutest nights of the year.
Here are some of Carter last year, dressed as a horse.

We were the same way, not ready to take Lucas out of his crib so we bought another.

I got this one:

We love it. Wish we'd bought this one for DS1, too. It was a breeze to put together and will be super easy to convert, should we choose to. It's very sturdy. We were very impressed with the quality for the money.

Hi everyone. We are back from Disneyland. OMG I am in love with California weather! So nice. We stayed at the Grand Californian Villas and they are wonderful. The nicest DVC we have ever tried by far!!! It got me to thinking how much easier it would be to take Natalie to DL than WDW. Everything is walking distance. A few times at California Adventure is was closer to go back to the resort to use the restroom than to find one in the park. Crazy:eek:

We picked her up a Minnie costume while we were there for Halloween. She loves Minnie. She did great with my parents while we were gone. My mom said the first day she was a bit "off" but after that she was great. :worship:

Hope everyone is doing great.

Glad you had a great trip! We LOVE the Grand Californian! How were the crowds? We initially had the same thought process as you when we began to plan Brynn's first trip, but the allure of her first trip being to Disney World was too much to resist!

I just wanted to let you know (JUST IN CASE) that there is a Similac Powder formula recall. To find out if you have a recalled container, here is the link Similac.com/Recall. Annabelle's formula was recalled.

i'm trying too but can't get in! it's freaking me out a little!! hoping i'm not feeding my baby bugs. I think it is the cans though and we do the huge plastic tub thing from BJ's.... fingers crossed

edited: found this on another site. never mind above seems like it is all the plastic tubs http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2010/09/abbott_recalls_infant_formula.html

on the up side Carys is sitting unassisted and LOVES pears and squash (oh, and Elmo :rotfl:). She could do without peas and peaches. I'm keeping a food chart with a smiley face, neutral face and sad face and putting the foods that I try under the appropriate face. It's fun to try new foods to see how she reacts!

Thanks for the compliments for Carter. I cannot wait for Halloween this year so I can get some new pictures of them dressed up.

A food chart is such a good idea. I never kept one for Carter (loved everything but peaches), but Landon just started rice cereal this week. It is so much fun to have him sitting at the table and eating with the rest of us.

You are very welcome. I know where I live they said like a whole 5 words about it. I would not have known had my dad not been watching the news and called and told me.
Annabelle's had 3 plastic tubs that were recalled one wasnt even opened then I even checked the sample I got before she was born and they were too. I am so thankfully we had some liquid blue label until my DH can get to the store tomorrow(we live in the country) to get her the Sensitive, which is what she is on.

Annabelle started cereal this week and seems to really like it. Next week we start fruits. I am really loving how expressive she is getting and I LOVE LOVE LOVE when she laughs. :lovestruc
On another note we just got a new to us used car.:goodvibes We have a Trailblazer Ext but the gas milage is horrible but we need it in the winter. So DH sold his old car and got us an 04 Honda Accord so I can drive that when I need to go in town for doctors appointments and errands. I couldnt drive his old car the seat didnt move and it was a two door so it was time for a new car.

I finally got through on the website and ours is recalled. You mentioned the Sensitive and that's what we use. I'm not sure what we will use now... Any suggestions on what to use in place of the Similac? I hate to switch up now. She has acid reflux and I feel like she has such a sensitive tummy as it is. I guess I will be calling the doctor in the morning but with her first feeding at 7am I know that I won't be feeding her the bad formula. hmmm....

I seem to recall reading that the liquid (ready to feed) formulas were not affected by the recall. As long as you can find the RTF, you should be OK. I'm sure that there will be a run on them as folks find out that they have recalled formula. :upsidedow

The liquid wasnt recalled so that is an idea. Someone said on the budget board not too long ago that certain store brands are the same as the Similac Sensitive they compared ingredients. It is making it hard on us moms. Maybe you could do the liquid until you could get in touch with the Dr to change. I dont know what we will do if we have to change brands because Anna can't take Enfimial.

Target makes a generic of Similac sensitve. Thats what the twins were on, and they could only take Targets generic. It saved us tons of money!! We would go through a can a day of the stuff, and it gets spendy.
