"Newest" Moms Hangout... take 2!

I'm pregnant! Again... :lmao: I just found out tonight, and I am so hoping for a singleton this time. :rotfl2:

Yeah! Congrats!! Hoping for your singleton for you right along with you! :cheer2: Although 2 at a fine can be fun, it sure is tiring isn't it? :rolleyes1

And Patsy, nice to "see" you! :) How are your little guys doing? Did you get Owen's medical issues sorted out?

Wow! Congrats on the pregnancy!!

DH is starting a new job on Monday, thankfully. He ended up getting laid off from his old job back in November (long story, still not taken care of though, there are possible issues with his being let go). So he has been home since mid-November. He finally got a job as a contract employee for a business about an hour from our house. He isn't a fan of the drive, but he will be paid hourly, and there is a TON of overtime, so we should be able to get the little bit we had taken out of our savings paid back. I don't know who is going to have a hard time with him not being home...him or Elliott. Elliott has daddy wrapped so tight around his little finger. Although it will be good for Elliott to get back to the sitter's to have other kids to play with.

Congratulations!!! how exciting!!! :goodvibes

Carys had a great first birthday :goodvibes Can't believe that she's one already. We had about 15 people here on Sunday for her party and it was pretty fun. She wanted nothing to do with her cake though  she hated being messy! She kept handing me the frosting. It was pretty funny.

We had her one year checkup yesterday and everything looks good. Started her on whole milk today. She doesn't like the taste! Although the doctor said to stop bottles altogether and just go right to milk in the sippy, I still did a morning bottle and did a combo of milk and formula in that, just so not to shock her right off the bat  Then did a snack mid morning where we usually do a bottle. (yogurt which she loves :lovestruc) Then at lunch put milk in a sippy. She's so used to water that I think she was shocked when all of a sudden there is this other beverage. She made horrible faces and just let it dribble out of her mouth. Hopefully it will get better. Anyone else experience this?

Great news!!!:cool1:

When Natalie first started on milk she hated it. It took you a few weeks to get used to it, now she LOVES it. To get her to drink it at first, I did put it in a bottle.

It hard to believe that I will be planning her 2nd birthday soon. Crazy I tell you, CRAZY!!

Congrats staley7580!! i hope for only one for you!

--------
Things are going well here. Rebecca will be 7 weeks tomorrow and Allison will be 2 in 2 weeks! it is crazy how fast they are growing. i told DH i was sure that we are done, but i am sad that there will be no more first smile and no more newborn stages. rebecca is almost out of all her 0-3 stuff and some 3 mos sleepers are getting tight! DH is having his vasectomy next Friday!!

Allison went on a "milk strike" for 3 weeks when i took away the bottle- this was at about 18 months. i wish i just did it when we switched to milk. she went from drinking 4 bottles a day of btwn 6-8 ozes to only drinking about 6oz before bed. our pedi said that this was ok since she eats a lot of other dairy.

good luck! she'll get used to it soon.

WARNING! MAJOR VENT AHEAD:scared1:

I need to know if I am overreacting to this...

I wanted to get Natalie a outdoor playhouse for her 2nd birthday. I told my in-laws about this. So today she is spending the night there (my DH had surgery today) and I called to update them on his progress. My FIL tell me that Natalie had a great time playing in her new playhouse they got for her. He goes on and tells me how nice it is and such. I told him that we were planning on getting that for her, for her birthday. He then says, well she can have 2 can't she.

I am mad because the "shine" will now be taken off of the gift and the one they got her is way nicer than the one we were going to get her.

Thanks for listening to me:sad1:

Not overreacting at all! I'd be pissed. They were trying to one up you! Pretty sorry thing to do.

I would be very upset if it would happen to me, so you are in no way overreacting. It was a very petty thing to do. Maybe you can find something even better for her.

Thanks everyone for your support. I don't know what I am going to do about her birthday now. I don't want to start a "one upping" thing with my in-laws. This is so stupid.

Brynn had her 9 month check up yesterday and everything went well except I can’t believe she is over 9 months old…. She weighs 18 pounds and ‘stands’ at 28 inches. She is a little under 50th percentile for weight and a little over 50th percentile or height. So pretty much smack dab in the middle for everything but her head, which is 45 cm and in the 90th percentile…. As I told her pediatrician, she comes from a long line of ‘big headed’ people. :rotfl:

It is AMAZING how fast she is changing. She’s crawling like a crazy woman and pulling herself up on everything which is going to turn my hair white out of fear. She’ll hold onto our fingers and ‘walk’ which is just crazy to us. She’s also become a little chatterbox over the past few weeks. She’s added ma-ma, da-da, kitty cat and hey to her vocabulary which had previously only been ‘hi’. It is just crazy how fast they grow. :scared1:

I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to spring, goodness knows I am. :goodvibes

Well, we had a very scary night last night. Elliott had a low grade fever on Monday, thought it was due to teething. Yesterday the sitter called, said he had a fever again. He was the only kid at her house, and she said he was still laughing and playing, so it was fine to leave him there. He was warm when I picked him up, and grumpy and tired. I had a meeting at 6:30, so I put him in his jammies before I left, and DH was rocking him. DH went to make him his bottle for before bed, and DS was holding him. DS yelled to DH that Elliott was choking. DH found out that Elliott wasn't choking, but was having a seziure! He called 911, paramedics said his temp was 105. DH finally got a hold of me, and said they were on the way to the hospital. The did bloodwork, swabs for flu and RSV, and a chest xray, Thankfully, everything came back negative, and they sent us home. I must have gone in his room and checked on him 100 times last night, Thankfully the fevers didn't come back. We are just chilling at home today, snuggling. Hopefully I can get some sleep when he naps.

Oh my gosh! I am so glad to hear that Elliot is doing okay now. How scary for you and you DH.

BabyTigger: How scary! I am glad that he is okay. It is so scary!

Staley: congrats on the newbie!!! So exciting!!!

We have been MIA lately. A newborn and 2 big ones can be a bit challenging! I hope you are all doing well~~:goodvibes
