Quick question...if we are booked using DVC points and get a FD pin, can we just add the FD to our reservation?

I'm guessing probably not, but I thought I would ask.

No. DVC guests cannot get free dining.

Does anyone know if this is actually true?

If the promotion is still open for booking you may be able to pick up a canceled room. Once the promotion expires, you can't get the promotion after that, even if someone cancels a previously booked promotion room.

It is the luck of the draw.. I have friends who have signed on to every Disney site and have traveled there very frequently and have NEVER received one.. Then, there was me who has been but not as many times as they had but I have received every pin that has come out since last Aug..

Sign up on the Disney site. I have two different emails that I get mail from them. Last year I would save some different trips that I wanted to take. This year I didn't and still have been getting different pins. Last year I so wanted free food in July but didn't get it. This year I did but may not go, haven't decided.

We got a pin so I called to ask if we could use it and I believe they said we needed 3 nights (we are going exactly 3). We are staying at POP so we got the QSDP with the pin. Upgraded to Regular DP for $87 more (for 6 of us)

Try ordering the vacation planning DVD. We did this before our first trip several years ago, and got a pin right away. So did my in-laws.

You can also call WDW reservations if you are a past guest, and they might have a pin number attached to your name. If it's been a while sine you have gone and you have moved or changed email addresses then they might not have updated info to contact you at. A lot of people have gotten the current free dining pin by calling, including us!

received the fd pin yesterday in my mail at home and we are holding on to this in case they don't come out for the dates we need. we are wanting to go the 1st of oct. if nothing comes out before 4/30 we will book an august trip with the free dining.

I am confused maybe someone can help me out here. I got the pin for free dining. We want to stay at the carribean beach resort but want a regular dining plan not quick service. Can we update to the regular dining plan and pay the difference if so does anyone know how much more it would be. It would be 2 adults and 2 children.

Does anyone know if you have to purchase the tickets for the whole five days or just one day. We still have non expiration tickets from our last trip.

We received the free dining pin in the mail yesterday. I had already booked the kids stay and play free package a month ago for ASMusic with QS dining but I went ahead and called to see what the price difference would be for us. For the 4 of us it saved us almost $500 dollars. We did have to move over to ASSports but we aren't in the room most of the time so that was no big deal to have to move. I also ended up finally adding park hoppers and we are still even getting a credit back from the booking. I think it worked out really well for us in the end.

Oh, I'm hoping I'll get a PIN! Maybe if I told them we're going to Universal.... they will give me one! My Disney vacation plans totally depend on PIN's and special offers. Just don't have it in me to pay full price when I know there is a deal out there somewhere!!!

Just adding my $.02..I was able to use the pin and we are staying for 4 nights. I just had to add two day tickets for each of us.
