Hello everybody!!
Im a newby who this year purchased membership of DVC with my home resort at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I'm now starting to plan for next year's trip and any tips would be greatly appreciated. We are thinking of doing a couple of resorts as we have extra points courtesy of Mickey. Was thinking a week definately at our home resort and then either a week at another resort or splitting the week into 2 resorts. So any tips anyone on what we should do and guidance on where to get best deals for flights. We are a Virgin credit card holder with miles so wondered if anyone had used this to assist with USA flights.
Thanks everyone!!!
:)

Welcome home, neighbor! We also own at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I think a split stay sounds great since you have two weeks and extra points. I personally would just move once unless you are traveling light and are more organized than I am since it chews up a half a day for us.

You'll love AKL for sure. With extra points in your pocket, I would find it worthwhile to book a savannah view. You'll have to choose between Kidani Village (brand new, but no counter service restaurant) and Jambo House (slightly older with a really nice counter service restaurant).

I would choose your second resort based on which parks you plan to visit most during that week. If your're going to Magic Kingdom, I think Bay Lake Tower is hard to beat because you can walk to the park in 10 minutes. If you're going to Epcot and/or Hollywood Studios, then I would choose the Boardwalk or Beach Club Villas since you can walk or take a quick boat ride to either one of those parks.

Have a great trip. :-)

Welcome home!
First of all, I think a week each at two different resorts would be fine, but I don't like moving any more than that. If you try to split that second week between two additional resorts, you'll be packing and unpacking too many times.

We like to get to our 1 or 2 bedroom villa...unpack...move in, and stay put until it's time to wash laundry and repack for the trip home. We do occationally do two resorts (usually involving AKV, since we own fewer points there), but moving is not my preferred mode of travel.
