NEWBY 2 Disney!!!! Mod. Resort Help, PLZZZ!

All the resorts have their fans so I'm sure they are all great! Our favorite [so far] is POFQ. Why not check out pictures of all of them and choose the one that appeals to you most!

Show your kids the pictures of the slide at CSR and they will tell you that they want to stay at CSR! The main pool is terrific as are the buses and food court.

:cool1: We're making progress... The kids want CSR and dad wants PORFQ....Kids love the slide...dad remembers romantic nights in New Orleans. LOL:love:

CSR is fun, but it is huge ("to get to your room, drive out of this parking lot, turn right. Go about two miles and park your car there. Your room will be close...")!!! POFQ is ok, but just not as awesome as POR!!! The mansions are awesome, the boat ride to DTD is fun and relaxing, and the pool is great! How much more romantic can it be than to stay in a mansion?:thumbsup2

Shmily1, are you staying there in 29 days? If so, do you have kids and I assume they like it?

I'm staying at ASMovies this time, but was just at POR for my b-day in January. We have DS17 and DD16 and they loved it. DS loved the pools, both Ole Man's Island and the quiet pools. He went swimming right after we checked in, which was at midnight!! DD thought she was really staying in a mansion. All of us loved the boat ride to DTD! It was great to see the treehouses in the original state. I would say this was one of the top three resorts that they love at WDW, with BC and ASMu being the other two. The food at Boatrights was great and if you wanted to take the boat to DTD for dinner, there's always Fulton's and House of Blues. Those two are awesome too!

:cheer2: Thank you sooo much!!! Also, would you rec. DDP? I think we've decided against it...staying 9 nights w/ 8 day PH passes...not having the plan will save us a little over $1200. Staying @ POR will help in convenience and numerous options @DD.

Well that depends. Were you planning on having any character meals? How many meals do you plan to have per day? Is your family big eaters?

If you love to eat and plan to try allot of the sit down meals or character meals during your stay I would highly suggest the DDP. Some say it's way too much food (you'll never hear me say that...LOL), but it gives you allot of options. Our family is using the deluxe dining plan since 90% of our meals will be character ones, including CRT, and the rest are all sit down meals. I went on allears.net and priced out paying for everything seperately and found the DxDDP to be a better bargin. Heck, it even includes the refillable mugs. :thumbsup2

I would also vote for POR. It's absolutely stunning and has something for everyone. The pools and arcade are great for the kids, you two will enjoy the boat ride to DD and how romantic the resort feels. I suggest staying at Magnolia Bend in one of the mansions. The two mansions we like the best are Magnolia Terrace and Acadian House. They share a really nice quite pool and are right next to the North and East bus depot.

If you stay, do yourself a favor and book the carriage ride while you're there. You and your DH will love it. They take you on a horse and buggy ride around the resort and FQ during the night. It's beautiful.

It depends on what kind of meals you want to have. If you want meals at the more expensive places, then I would advise the DDP. If you think your family would rather eat more CS meals or at the cheaper places, then the DDP would not be a benefit to you. I would suggest taking a look at the menues available on the dining section of wdwinfo and picking out a typical day's meals and compare that to the costs of the DDP. We have done it both ways and can see advantages to both. DD said she would prefer not doing it this time so she can eat "regular" food! The meal for the four of us at Coral Reef was a little over $250 so he dining plan was worth it for us that trip. This trip, we won't be spending the time do the bigger meals. Also, when looking at the menus, make sure the places you would be eating would be on the DDP.

I hope you have a great trip!!! It sounds like you will!!
