Hi :wave2: Does anyone have any experience flying out of Newburgh? Due to a great rate from AirTran I booked flights flying out of this airport. It's my first time flying from here and I was wondering if there's anything I should know. We plan on parking our car in the long term lot. Our flight leaves at 6:00am (DH is gonna kill me when he finds out:scared1: ) Anyway the airport website says to get there at least 2 hours early because the lot gets so full. We are flying on Monday Aug 25th. do you (those who use this airport) think we really need to get there @ 4:00am? Thanks any opinions are appreciated! :thumbsup2

SWF - is a good airport. Quiet and clean. Your car should be find. Place a sun blocker guard in your front window.
Take a picture of where you can is parked on your cell phone or digital camera and do not delete the picture until you return to your car for your ride home.
You can attach an old colorful bandana to your car antena to identify it easily.

Not many flights come in and out of SWF so it is not as busy as LGA or ALB.

Enjoy your flights.

We just flew out of Newburgh during April break. I loved the airport. Very clean & everyone was so friendly. We arrived 2 hours early & were able to find a parking spot right up front. Their rates are almost half than flying out of White Plains. Enjoy!

I've flown out of Stewart many times over the past 20 years or so and it's grown a lot since the begining, but not *that* much. You probably don't really need to be there by 4 but I wouldn't get there a heck of a lot later. Nothing takes that long but it does all add up. Checking your bags, going through security, walking to your gate, etc. Then again, maybe it just seems to take forever since my husband wears cowboy boots which take a while to get on and off and as one security check person said to another "this guy has more sh*t on his belt than Batman" :lmao:

I'm flying out the 26th!!! Fairly easy to get to I think we were there 1 1/2 hours before our last flight and we didn't have a lot of extra time.

I use Stewart regularly, long term parking is so close to the airport, a few steps more than regular. I don't get there 2 hours before (at the crack of dawn the only coffee shop was not even open!), 1-1.5 before is fine. The people are so nice and there is a relaxed feeling. We once flew to Seattle via Chicago on a smaller plane and the pilot let my son turn off the plan. It was the first time my high functioning autistic son let someone else have him sit on their lap and he let him put his pilot hat on him-no hats ever for him! The pilot even took a picture of both of them in the cockpit and sent it to me!!!
I am using the non stop airtran flight to disney on May 28th-can't wait! Just be careful when you come off the highway, watch for the airport signs or you will end up at the army base (who are so kind in directing you to the right place-we did this last June)

Thanks for the info. I guess we'll get there about 4:30 for our 6:00 am flight. DH is going to kill me ! But it really was a good deal. :rolleyes1
