Hi everyone,
I just got back from a 15 day trip at WDW!!! It was GREAT! About halfway through I got hooked on Pin Collecting and was able to get 5 of the Series III lanyard pins and the Fathers Day 2002 pin. ( I wish I would have gotten more to trade.)
Anyway, Im a newbie and need advice on what to collect (mainly which pins are LE and where to find them). I have 17 of the 101 "Countdown to 2000" pins. How many were made?

My favorite character is Donald Duck. Which are the best Donald pins to find? I know he has two lanyard pins out there... I dont have them yet. Anyway, I'm new.... so looking for advice.

Thanks a lot!!!
HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!

to the Collectors Board, Pin Collector! This is a really nice group of folks, many of whom share your enthusiasm for Disney pins!!! I've been collecting them for almost 3 yrs, and I've lost count of how many I have...actually I don't really want to know..
the main rule is buy what YOU LIKE...not just b/c its a hot item...unless you're sure you'd be able to trade it...
the Countdown to 2000 series had 101 pins...some are still for sale in Disney Character connection discount outlets...many you can trade for.
Donald is a great character, and frequently there are great Donald pins..double check on PinPics Dizneypins and Dizpins for the latest LE's featuring Donald...
have fun!!!

This means another one bites the dust..It can become addicting very quickly..but it is a lot of fun, and you get an opportunity to meet the nicest people, not to mention be able to interact w/ the CM's..

We have been collecting for just over a year and half..and have made some wonderful friends..
and like susie B I don't want to know how many pins I have right now...

But to collect only the pins you like is good advice..I didn't do that in the beginning, and spent a lot of money I didn't need to spend. I know get only what I like..

My DD fav. is also Donald, and she has a lot of unusual pins in her collection..so keep your eyes open, there are a lot out there, as you will see on Pinpics..

The next time you get down, come say hello to us at the Fri night pin meet at the Contemporary..

Okay, is anyone else surprised that the name PinCollector has been free on the DIS all this time?? :p

Welcome to the DIS and the Collectors Board, PinCollector. Always great to see new names and faces. I'm also a Donald fan and also originally from GA.

You may or may not have seen this yet, but there's a pin meet being formed in your area by DIS member Brer-Rabbit. Here's a link to his thread about the meet.

Let me add my welcome to our ever expanding group. Don't be afraid to ask questions. And don't know if you heard or not, but Disney now has pin trading Sunday nights at the Boardwalk starting this weekend. (in addition to Friday nights at the Contemporary, and the still unofficial Sat nights at the Poly).
