After just missing out on two different resales...make an offer..only to learn it was sold the day or week before, I think we are on the cusp of getting some good news. I have a basic banking/borrowing question. (probably something I needed to know before making an offer), Regardless, here is the ?. I am hopeful that the DVC, will have 75 points per year, with a December month, with 60 points remaining. So If I want to vacation in 09, what are my options. I can use the 60 points now, but have to wait till december to get the 09 points? Can I combine the two and take a vacation in September. I appreciate any help I can get.

I am assuming by what you are saying that the contract you have put an offer on has 60 '08 points remaining. With a Dec use year your '09 points will come Dec '09 but if you wanted to take a vacation in September '09 you could borrow the 09 points and have 135 points for that trip. After Dec '09 you could then borrow the '10 points. I'm fairly new at this also and just purchased resale but that is my understanding. Good Luck with your purchase!

the above poster is basically correct. just remember that you can call 11 months out to book at your home resort and 7 months out to book at any DVC resort, regardless of UY month.

so while your 2010 pts are only valid for reservations within your 2009 UY (Dec 1, 2009 through Nov 30, 2010) at the earliest if you are borrowing them, you can still call 11 months in advance of your reservation to book your home resort.
