We are new to this area of the world :goodvibes

We are campers, but we have never pulled our popup down to WDW. We are ready to try it this fall, but I have a few questions.

How is the noise level? We have had good and bad experiences camping related to noise after dark. Also...how is the noise level during the day? I will be trying to get our 2 year old down for a nap each day :thumbsup2

How is the transportation to/from the parks?

What is your favorite thing to do in the FW area? We are saving a day for just hanging around there. :woohoo:

Thanks!

Howdy neighbor!!

Ft. Wilderness is a great campground!! As far as noise, I havn't noticed too much, but then it's pretty late at night and pretty early in the morning for me. I'm a tent camper that stays in the 2000 loop mostly.

The one time I was napping during the day, there was this family opening and shutting their car door 50 times it seemed.

You might want to get away from the comfort station as those doors are kind of heavy and make noise when they open and shut.

Although you don't need it for your popup, you might want to get a full hookup site as there will be more "campers" vs. tent campers and perhaps less outside noise.

You'll love Ft. Wilderness!! Also, for the drive here is what I normally do. I take I-565W, I-65S, I-20E, I-75S, Turnpike S, 429S, Western Way, Buena Vista Dr, World Drive, then a right turn directly past the MK toll booth, then left into Ft. Wilderness!! I leave fully packed up from work on Friday night and head for Macon, GA and stop there (staying in a hotel), (that gets me through B'ham about 6:45pm, and through Atlanta about 10pm) then finish the drive on Saturday morning. That gets me there about checkin time. Also, when I leave, I check out on a Saturday morning, then spend the rest of the day in the parks, then drive to Ocala that night and stay in a hotel, then finish the drive home on Sunday.

My favorite thing to do at Ft. Wilderness is to catch the Movie, then walk to the marina for the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant.

THANKS! I have always used these boards to plan, but now I have a neighbor who even helps with travel directions :rotfl:

I took my then almost 2 year old a few years ago and had no problems with naps. We were in the 1400 loop, kind of close to the comfort station and she did nap. Granted, we usually had her nap in the stroller, but she had no trouble sleeping. Must be the fresh air! :) Have fun!
