Hey everyone :wave2: - I've been lurking on the boards for probably the past year or 2 and finally decided to register.

My fiance and I have been together for 5 years and we want to get married in WDW. However, I don't know if our budget would allow it. We would get married down there with a few family members and then have a reception at home when we get back. My fiancee wants to get married at the All Star Music by the fountain that's between the 2 Jazz buildings (if anyone knows where that is). We have always stayed at this resort, and he would love to exchange vows in front of it at night. I agreed, saying that it would be more romantic and personal for us. Now, I don't know if we could have our own officiant to perform the service since it would be a very casual moment for us. Does anyone know if Disney allows this? We will be down there for a week in November for a vacation with the kids and would love to do it then.

Any advice for me is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Let’s see if I can help. Though I’ve never heard of using the fountain at All Star Music, it might be a possibility. I would just ask Disney. Since you mentioned a small guest list, I assume you are looking at an Intimate Wedding, not a Custom. As far as your own officiant doing the ceremony for an “unofficial” wedding, Disney absolutely does not allow that. They are very strict about keeping all the weddings “in-house” and if you are caught, you could potentially be asked to leave. I wouldn’t risk it. I would check out www.disneyweddings.com to see the information about Intimate Wedding Packages to see if that meets your needs. Another great resource is www.yourfairytale.com. I hope that helps a little!

Elisabeth is totally right. If you are "caught" by Disney security holding an unofficial wedding, they will almost definitely make you leave. Is that how you want your special wedding day to be?

Here is a good thread about alternatives to expensive Disney weddings, perhaps one of these suggestions would work for you.

Ok...that's exactly what I needed to know! I was wondering if I had to have a wedding package to get married in Disney - I guess I do, which is ok too. Can't hurt to ask right? :)

Anyway...has anyone heard of this place? Little White Wedding Chapel It's in Kissimmee and I was also thinking of this as well. I just don't know what to do. Our vacation is already costing us about $3000-3500 depending on if we fly or drive. We booked a package because it was cheaper for us this way with the kids.

I'm just trying to figure out a way to get married in WDW when we have a fairly tight budget. Fiancee really wants to do it this year, and I have no objections ;)

check your PM's! we were married at that chapel!! :)

i can honestly say that our entire wedding/honeymoon...everything cost us less than $3000. plane tickets, hotel (also at the AsMU), rental car, dress, flowers, cake, park admission, pictures, videos...the whole ball of wax! keep in mind though, that was just for the 2 of us...no kids or friends or family were present for the wedding. :)

LOL...I posted the question before I read about you getting married there in another thread. :rolleyes1

I guess I should search more huh? ;)

Thank you so much for your feedback...I think we're seriously going to look into this.

WDWlover, if you absolutely have your heart set on getting married in front of the fountain at ASMu, then I think you should do it. People always talk about what Disney might do if they caught you, etc. Does anyone really even have a Disney "catching" someone story? Its like this big myth that keeps perpetuating itself on a variety of different Disney boards. Of course Fairy Tale Weddings doesn't want you to do this because then they aren't making any money off you. Of course the hotel staff doesn't want to be responsible if people "invade" your ceremony or little kids run up thinking you're a princess and put their grubby hands on your $2k dress.

As long as you don't mind spectators, as long as you are quick about it, as long as you aren't causing a scene, I seriously doubt anyone on staff at ASMu would have a problem with it. The only thing I can think of is that the fountain is sort of in the walkway, so you'd want to do it at a low-traffic time of the evening. After people come back to change for dinner, but before they come home from the parks at night perhaps.

Every CM friend I've talked to about quick in-park weddings has said they'd have no problem with it, as long as its quick and not distracting to other guests.

If you take all the "as long as you..." aspects into consideration and they don't deter you, I would do it. If any of them would bother you, I'm sure you'll find something just as romantic and beautiful someplace else. :) If you were worried about being in the walkway near the fountain, its seems like you could even request a room in the Jazz building facing the fountain and have a quick ceremony on the walkway overlooking the fountain.

Of course if you're imagining a big poofy white dress and lots of guests, it wouldn't work so well, but for something small and intimate, it could even appear to passersby that you're just standing with a couple of friends enjoying the evening.
