Hi as posted a few days ago, I am new here. I am getting some great info. However have a question?
If we choose to sta off property and get 7 day passes to disney can we get the dining plan? How does that work? Where can I get more info on this plan?
Thanks everyone!!:rolleyes1

To get DDP, you must stay on property, and purchase at least 1 day ticket for everyone in your room. You have DDp for each night of your stay... 7 days/6 nights = 6 days DDP. My family loves the DDP, and has really saved money using it. Please feel free to PM me with any questions. Good luck!

Under "Trip Planning Forums" there's a board specifically for the DDP - has lots of info on it there. But as the PP said, you have to stay ON property to get it. :)

So just to make sure I understnad what you're saying, b/c I didn't know about this part, the dining goes with nights of stay not days in park? If so that is wonderful... don't know why I thought the other way, b/c this make so much more since. Just a blonde moment i guess haha:rotfl:

Correct. It is based on nights you are staying not on tickets.

yes, you are correct - each member of your party gets one snack credit, one counter service credit and one table service credit for each night of your stay on Disney property. :yay: For instance, my sister and I are going from 8/31 to 9/9 which equals 9 nights, so we would each get 9 of each of those 3 kinds of credits. We have 10 day park tickets but that has nothing to do with the dining plan.

The credits do not have to be used daily (as in 1 snack, 1 counter, 1 table service per day) - it goes by total credits - so if you want to really pig out and use 4 table service credits in one day - go for it!! :scared1: The credits are good from the time you check in until midnight of the day you check out.

Your credits are linked to your room key (which is also your park admission ticket) which keeps track of what credits you've used and when you get your receipt from wherever you eat it will show you how many total credits you have remaining.

Hope that wasn't too much info - are you totally confused now?!! :confused3

They are planning on changing the DDP beginning in '08. If you opt for the 1 snack, 1 counter and 1 table service no appetizer will be a part of the plan and the plan is $37.99/adult, which is $1.00 cheaper. It also doesn't include the gratuity.

They will be adding a new dining plan where you can get 3 table services a day, etc. and I think the cost will be $63.00/adult.

It will be interesting to see how it all works out.

Glad you added that, Debbie, I didn't stop to think that the OP might have been planning for next year!! :confused3 I'm going in 29 days and I guess I'm not thinking too far beyond that!! :rotfl:

It will definitely be interesting to see how the DDP changes will effect the number of people who get it as well as the crowds in the TS restaurants. Only time will tell. ::yes::

OMG!! Who could eat 3 TS a day? We had trouble using all our CS meals because we were so stuffed! Will they have an option for the current DDP (appetizer included) at a higher cost? I really wish they would come up with a better option for the 10-13 yr olds than adult prices...

OK thanks everyone, I get the picture now. The DDP is part of the hotel stay not part of the park tickets. Thanks so much...what ever would I have done had I not found this site you guys are great.

The only advantage to the increase in table services is for those who like to do character meals. We are planning on a magical gathering in "09 so I can't wait to hear the reviews on the new plan.

Congrats! Have a great disneymoon!

If you get the chance in the future, between time driving, gas, etc., it is cheaper, I feel, to go with the Dining Plan and stay on property. You save time and you really do save money with the food!:thumbsup2

I TOTALLY agree with you here. Tweens in this age group should be able to order Pizza off the kids menu if that is what they want! and NOT have to order from an ADULT menu, if they don't want to!
