Hello all. I'm new here, and have been trying to fully immerse myself in these boards. I'm trying to plan our trip to Disney for next November (2014). I have done a lot of research, and it looks like renting a condo for a week is going to be much cheaper than staying in a value resort. Also, it'll be a lot roomier. It'll be me, my husband and 11 year old son. I found one condo at Windsor Hills, and the owner quoted me $600 for 8 nights. Does this sound too good to be true? The dates in question are 11/28/2014 to 12/6/2014. I'm not sure what all questions I should be asking him. I found the condo through WHRent.com. Any tips/pointers/guidance you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Not too good to be true....It is always a lot cheaper to rent at WH than to stay in WDW. We stay there every time we go. The complex is very clean and they have a beautiful pool area. All of the condos we have stayed in have been great. It only takes a few minutes to drive there but you have to have a car which if you are flying in adds to your total cost. You also have to buy supplies. The condo will have one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, one roll of paper towels in the kitchen, and one garbage bag in the trash. You can buy extra toilet paper when you go grocery shopping and bring a few garbage bags with you in your luggage. I would also bring sugar for your coffee in a container so you don't have to buy a 5 lb bag, enough coffee filters for the week and salt/pepper shakers. We always eat breakfast in the condo, have a big lunch in one of the parks and something easy for dinner. Definitely saves money buying groceries instead of eating out every meal! If you don't feel like cooking on vacation Publix (local grocery store) has a great deli section where you can get a fried chicken dinner with two sides and rolls for about $8.00.

I would recommend asking for the total price including tax and all fees. There may be a cleaning fee on top of the rental fee. Also ask if the owner is up to date with his HOA dues. If not, you won't be able to use the community facilities.

I would also suggest you might want to check out Wyndham Bonnet Creek. They have condos for rent but the amenities they have would be great for your 11 yr old.

They have 5 pools, 2 slides, 2 lazy rivers, free putt putt golf, a game room, an activity center, a craft room and they have things going on all day long for kids.

If you planned on spending any down time at the house or condo on your trip Bonnet Creek has plenty to keep your kid(s) occupied.

You can find a big long thread here on the Orlando board called the We Love Bonnet Creek thread.

You can get quotes for a 2 bedroom through a handful of different brokers like Vacation Upgrades and VacationStrategies. There are 3 or 4 more that are listed in that Bonnet Creek thread.

Here is a PDF booklet that shows you some of the things that go on there during the day
