Newbie with a PIN- book now or wait it out?

Hello! Lurker turned poster here. DH and I are currently planning our very first
Disney trip for our son's fourth birthday. We're planning on Nov. 28ish through December 6thish of this year. I got a PIN by email, the Game On email with the 10% off. Should we go ahead and book with that, or hold out to see if we are lucky and get the 35-40% off? What happens if we book with the 10% and then later get the better PIN? Please help!

I'm so excited to have joined the boards, and I'm really looking forward to talking with you all and learning about Disney fabulousness!

I would go ahead and book with what you have before it expires. You can always switch to something else if you get something better. The only thing is you may have to switch room types or resorts if what you have is not available with that code. It's better to have some sort of discount instead of nothing!

Yep that is the way to do it Go ahead and book now with the pin you received and then if a better offer comes along you can always change it. This way at least you have your vacation booked and don't have to worry about finding a room at the last minute.

If it were me, I'd always book a longer stay with a bigger group. Big groups move slower and pretty much take longer to do everything. I think I'd go for the cabin. That gives you a kitchen so you can reheat leftover from meals and things like that. The values are nice but the rooms are pretty basic.

I would do the 7 nights also. And would probably choose the cabin over 2 rooms.

Just my opinion, but I'd choose the 2 Bdrm Villa.
Check out YouTube for some fantastic video of all the choices and maybe that will make your decision a little easier.
Having said that, it IS tempting to stay 2 days longer - but then you also have to add in the extra cost of food, tix, etc (or perhaps you've already done that.
At any rate, have a great vacay!

I would call and ask if I could apply the 35% off to a Family Suite at the All Star Music resort (instead of 2 rooms). I did this last week and did get it applied which made the stay for 5 of us in the famly suite very reasonable and I can use the money saved to get parkhoppers instead of standard tickets.

I didn't realize you could call and ask for the rate to be applied to the Family Suites. The email said that the rates weren't available for Suites, and the website wouldn't allow me to check. But I hadn't thought of calling and having a Cast Member crunch the numbers for me. Thanks for the tip.

I was also interested in the Villa. Having more space to spread out is important when you have lots of little ones! I didn't think to check YouTube for videos. Thanks!

I would go for the 2 bdrm villa and 5 nights mainly because the sleeping options in the villa are better than the cabin which has a double bed in the bdrm, 2 bunk beds and a pull down murphy bed in the living area. Plus only one bathroom in the cabin whereas depending on what villa you pick you will have either 2 bathrooms or 3.

Family Suites are always included in the promotions as are the BWI Garden Suites.....as far as I am aware those are the only ones though

I think the promo isn't good for suites in the deluxe level, but I had no problem getting it applied to the Family Suites in the value resort. Our kids are older (19,19 and 29) they are thrilled about having two bathrooms and each having their own place to sleep without sharing a bed. The Family Suites have a pull out couch, a pull out chair and a pull out ottoman. We usually book two rooms, but by getting the family suite we will have the mini-fridge, coffee maker and microwave- which is key for us on a budget trip.

5 day park hoppers for 5 adults cost so much these days that we are saving where we can. Breakfast for 5 of us prepared in the room (and my coffee which cannot be skipped) saves a ton of money for my family and is well worth the cost of the FS. The extra 35% off was all bonus.

The the OP ~ I agree with everyone else that you should go ahead and book now with your current pin and just call and modify your reservation if a better deal comes along. It won't cost you anything to make changes. There will probably be a general public offer, I'd think, for better than 10% off.

I'm in the minority here, but I'd go with Option C ~ a deluxe club level room. I think with a large family, you'd appreciate having breakfast each morning, afternoon snacks, pop, juices, tea, coffee, hot appetizers at night, wine and beer, desserts and cordials later at night. It's so convenient having all the food and drinks. On top of that, you'd most likely get a resort with easy access to the parks which is another plus with a large family. If you choose an Epcot resort (BC, YC, BWI), you can walk to Epcot in 5 minutes and also walk or boat to HS. If you choose a monorail resort, you have monorail, walking (CR to MK), boat access to MK and Epcot. WL will be a lesser priced deluxe which gives you boat access to MK.
