Newbie ? - What is a "Lanyard Pin"

could anyone explain to a "newbie" what a Lanyard pin is? It seems like they are desirable . . . are they limited or more limited than LEs?

So far I have figured out that there are Disney store pins
(not ltd), LE pins - Limited edition, CM - cast member pins, but can't figure out what a "lanyard pin" is.

A lanyard pin is one that is found on a CM lanyard at either WDW or DL. They can't be bought from either park (though folks sell them at auction). Some are more desirable than others simply because they were released early and can no longer be found.

If you go to http://www.dizpins.com/ then to dizpinventory, scroll down to lanyard pins under walt disney world will bring up pictures. Showing the back of a pin stating it is a lanyard pin (all lanyard pins will have this), plus all the ones in each series. Hope this help, it is the only place I know to see all of them so you know what to look for.

I took a look at the site with the pictures and there are some neat ones there - of course the one I like is from an early series! It's nice to know what to keep my eyes out for.

When we were there in Jan I seen some from all the different series on the lanyards. Looking for the license plates and train set was hard to find but there was a mix of all the series out there.
