Newbie! VWL Studio- Marathon Weekend 2009

Hi Everyone!

DH and I just became DVC Members at VWL. We've registered for the 2009 Disney Marathon and plan on using our points for the first time that weekend. How difficult will it be to reserve a studio at VWL Marathon Weekend? Any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

No problem at all if you call when your 11 month window opens. In fact, you should be able to get your studio with just one call.

The best DVC to stay at for the marathon is OKW and request on Millers Road. Then you can walk to the start line of the marathon. It's not too far from the entrance to OKW off Bonnet Creek Parkway.

We stayed at VWL for the marathon once and you can catch a bus at 3:30AM to the start. Make sure your bus driver knows how to get to Epcot. Disney leases a whole bunch of tour buses to get runners to the start and there are very sad stories out there about how the bus driver didn't have a clue how to get to Epcot.

By the way, Welcome Home and have a great run. Hope the weather in 2009 is better than it was in 2008.

Welcome home from a fellow newbie. We'll be there for marathon weekend as well (DW runniing/walking the 1/2, me maybe the full). We're using our points for the first time in May for our anniversary.
