Newbie trying to figure it all out - VGC??

We did stop and get hot chocolate in the lobby one night but it ended up being WAY too chocolatey. So the next night we stopped at Craftsman for their hot chocolate. It's just the powder in the machine like at a gas station. But...it must have been all out because we just got hot water. So disappointing. We did manage to get some from there another night though.

But yeah...nightly 'free' hot chocolate would be better.

Great...now I'm craving hot chocolate.
At Aulani, hot chocolates are free! As much as you can drink. 8-)

So we were thinking early June 2024 for our first DVC trip. But then after more thought....we have now decided late June to avoid grad nights. I was sad to push the countdown on my phone back even farther.

So it went from 446 days to 465. Booooo.
I should probably start a pre-trip report thread to keep me busy for the next year. Do I do that in the DVC section or just over on the Disneyland side of the board?

I still vote for a quick trip the first week of January before school starts while it is still decorated for Christmas! What a great Welcome Home!

yes, grad nights suck at DL. It's basically the first 3 weeks of June.

I wish! The last day of my son's winter break is January 2nd. And if we go then, we can't do the June road trip.

We were thinking of risking it. But then I was told that from the DVC wing, we might hear the noise from the parties late at night and I am a fairly light sleeper so...not gonna risk that!

Just remember point chart jumps that last week in June!

I saw that. Before the booking window opens, I'll need to decide if we'll arrive June 17th or June 24th. (We would leave home a few days before since we're driving.)

Thanks! I'm getting nervous. I noticed lately a lot of people were passing 6 days after being sent so fingers crossed!! I'm wondering if ours getting sent over on a Saturday might mean it takes a couple extra days.

I’d make sure the bottle of champagne is cold….

I'm so impatient that it's going to be hard waiting on everything between now and when we're able to book. And of course...then I have the long wait for the trip but it will be so worth it!

We had a small gap between our last two trips....June 2022/February 2023. But before that...we had a larger gap (thanks, covid!) We managed even if it's not ideal. Thankfully we have some camping trips this summer that I can focus on. Then I love Fall and then the holiday season. The hardest part will be next January-May! That will really drag on a lot.

Waiting AFTER ROFR is the hardest part IMO. But I love the in-between period of vacations. Making the 11mo reservations. Seeing other options at 7. Making ADRs. We have gaps between vacays too but thankfully, we have Aulani to plug the gaps from time to time.

We are mostly an August Disney family because of school but we find VGC summer points chart to be brutally high. We love going in mid November for all the holiday festivities right before the high chart season begins. And the weather is nice and cool.

I'll be curious to see how our vacation timelines changes once we have DVC. I'm guessing smaller gaps between trips. At least for a while. I just hope our son doesn't get sick of Disney trips! He's a tricky one to figure out sometimes. I'm nervous about taking him to WDW (January 2025?) but also excited to see what he thinks. He'll probably be sad that they don't have Mr. Toad's, Casey Jr., Alice, and Luigi's.

So...what time zone is the ROFR monster in?? What's the latest time in the day I might hear something? Just wondering what time I should give up hope for the day.

The double edged sword of this thread is seeing others passing quickly gives hope but then gets frustrating when you don’t!

Not too long ago it’s was taking 3 weeks! I’m hopeful you get answers soon!

Thanks! Do people ever hear back on the weekends? Or am I likely not going to hear anything before Monday?

If it makes you feel any better, I passed ROFR a week ago and still have not received closing docs. Last time I received them same day or next day (both with Mason). So, ROFR probably isn’t costing you any time on when you’ll get your points.
