We have done Disney several times but never stayed at the campgrounds. In the past we have always gone in September during free dining but my daughter is in 1st grade this year and I am hesitant about taking her out of school. So I have booked premium campsite for October 10, 2014 – October 17, 2014 when she has fall break. I really wanted to stay through October 18th but nothing is available.

The plan as of right now is… On Friday after lunch me, my husband, my daughter, our 2 Boston terriers, and my dad will leave out on motorhome and it is about a 6 hour drive to Disney for us. My mom and sister will leave when my sister gets off of work Friday unsure of time yet. On Monday at some time my dad, mom, and sister will leave and me, husband, daughter, and pups will stay through Friday, hopefully Saturday.
We will be a little cramped but Saturday and Sunday will be park days so will only sleep in motorhome so we will just suffer through it.

I have a few questions…
1. What is a good premium loop to request that is pet friendly?
2. Where do we put trailer we use to tow golf cart?
3. Is there somewhere we can get large pizza at the Fort?
4. Can dogs ride on golf cart?
5. What is the possibility of getting a campsite for the 17th?
6. If get lucky and get campsite for the 17th, will we have to move?
7. If need to upgrade park tickets what is the best closet place to go?

I am sure I will have more questions but this is a start.

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice that you share!!!

Hey Mom,

Check out Rland8228's post under "good and bad news". Apparently they had 10/18 - 10/25 booked and are going to be cancelling. Maybe a Diser's misfortune may be a break for you.

I have a few questions…
1. What is a good premium loop to request that is pet friendly?
Premium pet loops are 400-900. Everybody has their favorite for different reasons. Close to Trails End/beach? 400 or 700. Close to Dog Park? 500. Close to Pool and Meadow Trading Post? 600 or 900. Quiet pet walk area? Behind 800 and 900. What's important to you?

2. Where do we put trailer we use to tow golf cart?
Out in the main parking lot (the portion farthest from the Check-in building). You will see other trailers parked there. Make sure you put a hitch lock on it.

3. Is there somewhere we can get large pizza at the Fort?
The Trails End takeout offers a large pepperoni or cheese pizza. See the pair of double doors between the Hoop Dee Doo Review front porch and the Trails End restaurant entrance with Cast Member podium. Larges are about $14. All the major chains (Dominos, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns) deliver to the front checkin area (please tip your driver generously if you choose deliver - my two sons worked delivering pizza this summer at college and they have a new appreciation for tipping.) ::yes::

4. Can dogs ride on golf cart?
Maybe on the floor if they're bigger dogs or in a passenger's lap if small.

5. What is the possibility of getting a campsite for the 17th?
Keep trying. People scratch up dates they need all the time for hard-to-get periods like Thanksgiving week and Christmas-New Years. Fall weekends in October are beautiful weather with some Halloween decorations set out by campers so sites are popular. Particularly close to cancellation windows sites become available - 45 days before arrival for packages and 5 days for room-only reservations. Then cancellation fees start kicking in for them.

6. If get lucky and get campsite for the 17th, will we have to move?
If your main reservation is for a Premium and you can get the 17th for one night as a Premium, no you will not have to move since they are the same types of site. If this is the case, link the two reservations when you check in the first time so they don't assign you a DIFFERENT Premium. If you get a Full or Preferred for the 17th, be prepared to have to move. You can negotiate with the Front Desk once you arrive and don't stop trying to get a Premium. But in the end be prepared to move if you want to stay and your reservation is for a Full or Preferred on the 17th.

7. If need to upgrade park tickets what is the best closet place to go?
Tickets can be bought or upgraded at the Ticket desks at the Fort Checkin Lobby (maybe the Concierge Desk there?) or the ticket windows to the left of the Hoop Dee Doo Review porch at Pioneer Hall. So at either end of the Fort you can get it taken care of.

I am sure I will have more questions but this is a start. That's what we're here for. :thumbsup2
