Newbie to the DIS boards, saying Hi and have a question

Hi all! I've been a lurker for a bit now and thought I'd take the plunge and register & post.

My name is Cynde, my husband is Kyle and my children are Nathan (3) and Piper (6 months). We're from Central Pennsylvania and we, like all of you, are Disney freaks. Love it and live it!

Anyway, my question is about getting from MGM to Ft. Wilderness. Friends of ours are going on an anniversary trip at the end of Feb. They are having dinner, seeing Fantasmic and after Fantasmic they have a carriage ride at Ft. Wilderness. I'm not sure of the exact time of the carriage ride. But my question is how long would it take to get from MGM to FTW via bus? My first thought is that the bus would be shared with the WL and that they might want to take a taxi. Can anyone help me?

Welcome disneyfam.
It shouldn't take to long to get from the studio to Ft. Wilderness by bus maybe 20min once they actually get picked up. And yes they were sharing with WL but I think FW gets dropped off first. The carriage ride sounds like a great thing to do.

We always try to 'build' 30 minutes into our plans for travel at the world........

With only 2 adults, they should be able to do it pretty quickly, though...............

For us, now with a little guy.....everything takes longer....getting to, onto, off of a bus, and to our destination takes longer...

Thanks for all of the welcomes! I'm excited to be here. Our next trip to the World is this November. It can't come quick enough. The last time we were in Disney was Nov. of 2002. Incidentally we found out I was pregnant with my daughter Piper while we were there. The perfect place to find out great news like that. The downside was no wine at the F&W festival. I plan on "tasting" a lot this year!

Hi! and welcome. The only answer I have for your question is: sometimes there are VERY long lines for the busses after Fantasmic. Once you get on the bus, it does not take too long to get to FW.
