Hi

Would appreciate any help with hotel recommendations? As much as I would like to stay on property, the Canadian dollar is not helping make this a possible dream.

I'm looking for a hotel within safe walking distance to the entrances. Ideally would like free parking, as will have a car, but not essential.

Any help would be recommended.

How many people do you need space for? My family of five like to stay right across the street at Best Western Park Place Inn & Mini Suites. The mini suite has 2 queens and a double size sofa bed. They also have regular non suite rooms. The parking is $10 a day, but they have free wifi and a free breakfast. Candy Cane Inn gets great reviews and is a little further away, but has its own dedicated shuttle.

Can you tell us more about what you want, and who your party includes? That can affect things quite a bit :)

My top favorites across the street are Park Vue Inn (for families, couples) and Tropicana (for solo trips). Both of these locations are actually *closer* to the main gates of Disneyland than any of the 3 Disneyland hotels. Shocking, huh?!

I'm not sure on parking fees, as we don't have a car when we are there.

Both motels are in the $130-175 range per night for a 2Q room. They have fairly typically-sized, basic rooms. I need a comfy bed--not too hard, but not too soft either--and I sleep wonderfully in each of these places. I've received great customer care from both places. Both places are clean and safe. They are close, across the street from the pedestrian entrance.

For families and couples, I generally recommend Park Vue, mainly because of their room choices. For couples, there are king suites with Jacuzzis in the room. Heavenly after a long day, and still under $200/night. For families, they have several room options--queen with bunks, queen suites with a separate sleeping room, and just regular 2 queen rooms. In any of these rooms, there is space for a play pen if you need it.

I just stayed at Tropicana for the first time last week. For a solo traveler, it was great. The room wasn't large, but it was close and clean and safe. The room I had didn't have a lot of sound insulation, so if you are a light sleeper, I'd suggest a 2nd or 3rd floor room. (Or be prepared to look for the elephants staying in the room above you! ;) ) It's a few steps farther, which isn't really a big deal.

considering park vue inn as they have free parking; can you only book them direct?

the canadian dollar is killing me

could stay at anaheim portofino inn and suites for 5 nights for $850 canadian; if i'm not mistaken a 15min to gates

or

park vue inn for $883 US, which would be $1236.20 canadian

I would look into the Candy Cane Inn. Clean, great customer service, free cont. breakfast, close to the parks on the same side of Harbor Blvd., private shuttle that runs on time, some discounts (ask about this when booking). I think parking is free.

Park Vue Inn is great! I think we booked directly thru them IDK if it is avail anywhere else, but free parking and a really good free breakfast and its directly across the street.

Yes, you can only book direct with Park Vue. Call them--they give better prices over the phone than you will find on their website.
