Hi all,

Just wanted a bit of advice and reassurance really.

We visited Orlando 2 years ago for our honeymoon and after a rough start to our babys life this year have decided we would like to go back in January for a break for us all.

We have provisionally booked a Villa in Hampton lakes and intend to buy tickets to attend the attractions also.

Just wondrered if anyone had stayed in Hampton Lakes and could give any information or if anyone has any tips for taking a 1 year old to Orlando.

I would also be interested to hear from anyone who has had to use the hospitals over there, if there is one close etc. As previously mentioned our little girl has had a heart condition which has since been corrected but over protective mummy likes to have all areas covered!!!

Thanks

Fiona :woohoo:

I haven't had to use the hospitals myself but there are two which would be suitably close to Hampton Lakes - Heart of Florida Medical Center is just south on the US27 - this is the closest one - and Celebration Hospital is a little further away just east/south of Disney World - the most accessible from the parks. I've heard from friends who have used both that they are excellent.

Having taken small babies to the parks myself (although several years ago now) my main advice would be to plan to take breaks. You're close enough in Hampton Lakes to take a lunchtime break. Cool off in the pool and let your daughter nap out of the sun.

Hi,

Here are the details of nearby hospitals, address & telephone numbers :

Florida Hospital-Celebration
(407) 303-4000
(407) 303-4344
400 Celebration pl
Kissimmee, FL 34747, United States

Osceola Regional Medical Ctr
(407) 846-2266
700 W Oak St
Kissimmee, FL 34741, United States

Florida Hospital Kissimmee
(407) 846-4343
201 Hilda St
Kissimmee, FL 34741, United States

Remember to get pool heating for the villa as it will be fairly cool in the mornings and evenings.
I don't think you will have any problems around the parks as it shouldn't be too crowded or hot - plus staying in a villa will mean you can relax also.

There are Publix supermarkets nearby and a map of the villa communities below may help you:

We first took Joshua when he was 10 months so you will be fine.

Hi fefetrixabelle and welcome to the Dis :bounce: :bounce:

It sounds like you deserve this holiday :)

I can't help with the questions you have asked but if you want to know anything else, please ask away - we are a friendly bunch and someone usually has the answer!

Yes we do need the break - Leah was born with Congenital Heart Disease and has undergone two operations in the first 4 months of her life.

We have been told that she will be safe to go and we couldn't think of a better place than Orlando. I can't wait to see her little face light up at all she can see.

I know she won't remember it but, it will be a lovely break for us all!!!

Fiona
