newbie takes her first trip to BLT

I'm a newbie to both Disney and DVC, we bought at BLT and just took our first trip. It was awesome!
We had a 2 bedroom lake view on the 1st floor. So great to be outside and to the pool so fast and the light show on the lake was an unexpected surprise.

Just a few trip observations...

The sleeper sofa is more comfortable than my bed at home, it's great!
The fact that the bathroom door doesn't lock is something to be mindful of if you have little ones..they're easy to slide!

I was surprised how many things were in the room for you-a decent sized dishsoap, a new sponge, one go of laundry soap. I over-packed!! Glad I brought our own shampoo and such though, am I the only one who thinks their choice of fragrance is waaaay too powerful??

Make sure to have everyone's room key (even the kids) to see the MK fireworks from the tower, I didn't realize how thorough they'd be.

With the ease of the monorail and the design of the resort, I'm going to find it really hard to stay anywhere else!

I'm glad you had a great time! My DSis slept on the sleeper chair and she was happy enough, too.

I like their soap, but I think the shower gel's scent is too strong.

BLT's location is wonderful. We don't own there, have stayed there once and hope to again, someday!

It sounds like you had a great time! We can't wait to get there. We leave in 9 days for 3 nights at BCV and then 3 nights in a 1 bedroom at BLT.

I have been to BLT twice but this will be my DH's first time!!

Thanks for sharing about your first trip home. BLT is a great resort. I am glad to hear when others enjoy their DVC trips,especially a new member. Now that the trip is over it is time to start planning the next vacation!

I am glad to here that you had a great time at BLT.

We just bought DVC points here, and I was beginning to wonder if we made the right decision - spending all that $ without actually ever staying there and trying it out first. The models were beautiful, and I think the location can't be beat.

I can't wait to stay there!!!

Lake view on the 1st floor? I don't like the sounds of that (had a 1st floor standard view and didn't care for people walking by and able to see in - no sheers on the windows).

Glad you enjoyed your stay. I love the location of BLT, and we thought about staying there this year for our trip in October. We have borrowed the last few times, and looked to conserve some points this year, so we opted for AKV. Maybe next year

Hey AuntSue!! We have yet to have our first stay at BLT!! Might not happen until 2012!

We love the BLT too! Our second trip is in Nov and then in Jan we're hitting Boardwalk for the first time. I'm going to miss walking to MK but maybe the walk to Epcot will make it just as fun
