Newbie Swap Question

I must start of my saying I love Mickey Mouse, I love to make greeting cards, love to scrapbook and I love to swap (not neccessarily in that order except for Mickey being #1). I have a swap question. How do I tell if a swap is filled or not. Is there some indication some where or do I need to read the full thread. Secondly, do you have do be a DisBoard poster for X amount of time before you can swap or host?

There are not any limits on time in membership for swapping. Although some hosts will ask members who are known for flaking to get there items in early to give angels a chance to get things done on time. Normally when a new swap opoens (the first of which happen on January 1st or 2nd, they will have a title with the swap. Once there is no room left in the swap usually the title will change to closed but active. The posting of who is in the swap and the items they are doing is usually the first or second in the thread but sometimes due to our chatty nature it can be done a little ways in the thread. Normally a host tries to be around and update very reguallarly in the first day or 2 of a swap starting so that they can keep the groups up to date. As far as hosting there is no rule although if you check out our swap calandar it is fairly full for the beginning of the year. I do know last time I looked we were looking for a host or hostess for the altered paper clip swap in the spring.
