Newbie saying "Hi!"

Hi all! I'm a newbie and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Lindsay , married for 10 years to my awesome hubby and we have two little girls (currently 7 & almost 9 ). We've been DVC members since 2014 and we're basically addicted to planning our next Disney vacation. Now that we're DVC members, we want to try ALL the resorts and that takes planning!

Anyway, I found this board doing some research while applying for the Disney Parks Moms Panel and it sounds like a perfect fit for me! Hoping to find new friends and learn a bunch from everyone!

I think I must look at the Disney website everyday planning our next vacation, luckily we live within a couple hours drive so we sneak down for the day at least once a month. Our next official trip will be in Jan for Marathon weekend, my kids are doing the kids races.

Yeah - I find myself spending WAY too much time on the Disney websites....almost as much as Facebook, I think! I wish we lived a little closer (NW of Atlanta, so it's about an 8 hour drive for us) but it's still within driving distance and that sounds good to me!

For sure! We went from being an hour away from Disney a few years ago to 15 hours away for my hubby's job and it killed me, luckily we got to move to jacksonville 3 years ago and we are staying put!!! do you have any trips planned for the future?

Better believe it! We've got a trip booked for next Feb and Apr. Waiting for our DVC booking window to open for our Sept HHIR trip. We're flying down in Feb since we've got some airline miles saved up, but the rest of the time, we're driving.

I'm so jealous your DVC! I wanted to do it 8 years ago but it didn't seem like a good time now I'm kicking myself we didn't do it then. We also have a trip planned for February but it will just be me and my hubby doing our first Rundisney race. and we also are doing a Disney cruise with the whole family in January and Disneyland in May.

If you're still thinking about doing DVC, check out the resale market. You can save a TON of money going that route and it's just as good as buying direct from Disney. Only downside is that you lose the right to use your points on some of the Disney and Concierge Collection resorts (like, no cruises on points). This is actually not a bad thing, though, because it's not an economical use of points to use them that way most of the time.

We are new DVC members too - purchased in 2014 and love it! I am addicted to planning our vacations too. So far we have stayed at BLT, AKL-Kidani, Saratoga Springs, Boardwalk Villas, WL, and Poly. Poly, BLT and Boardwalk are our favorites! Enjoy!!

That's so awesome! We've stayed at AKL-Jambo and the Hilton Head resort. This year will be Poly, BWV and (yet unplanned) OKW.
